Now Girls Can Stand Up and Go

GoGirl is the way to stand up to urinate. It’s a female urination device (sometimes called a FUD) that allows you to urinate while standing up. It’s neat. It’s discreet. It’s hygienic.

GoGirl is easy to use. Just lower your panties, and put GoGirl against your body, forming a seal. Aim and, well, pee. Pretty simple, huh?

GoGirl fits easily in your purse, pocket, or glove compartment. It’s a must for travel and sports. And it’s great for everyday––no more crouching over or trying to cover up an unsanitary public toilet.

While the concept may be new to you, European women have used female urination devices for years. GoGirl’s not the first device of its kind. But try it. And we think you’ll agree it’s easily the best.

Only GoGirl is made with flexible, medical grade silicone. Dispose of it after use. Or clean and reuse as you like. (Urine is sterile, but the product can come into contact with contaminates during use, so take precautions when cleaning.) Our patented splash guard eliminates messing and spilling. Once you practice a time or two, using a GoGirl is going to feel like second nature. You won’t be like a man. You’ll just pee like one.www.go-girl.com/

Cold Case Featured Gamble & Huff Catalogue

Seven songs from the legendary Gamble & HuffSound of Philadelphia” catalogue – led by Back Stabbers, If You Don’t Know Me Be Now, Me & Mrs. Jones, andI’ll Be Around – were central to the plot of this weekend’s episode of Cold Case.

Though their songs have been featured prominently in countless TV programs, films and advertising spots over the Past 30 years, this is the first time the Gamble & Huff Catalogue were featured this extensively in more than 35 years.

The show featured, for the first time, the collaborative creative work of Gamble and Huff's silent music publishing partner and legendary producer, Thom Bell, who was responsible for producing and writing hits for artists such as the Spinners, Stylistics, Delphonics and others within the Philadelphia International camp. Gamble-Huff & Bell publishing entity, also known as Mighty-Three Music, was one of the largest African-American song catalogues in the country, second only to the Motown publishing empire. The Mighty-Three Music catalog was later sold to Warner Chappell Music in 1990.

The most sought after Gamble and Huff (PIR) catalog is currently licensed with Sony Music where many of the songs featured the show on a newly released box set entitled "Love Train:The Sound of Philadelphia".(www.gamble-huffmusic.com).

This weekend’s Cold Case episode, "Soul," found the team delving into the fictional 1970 murder of a musician who tried to keep his involvement with the Philadelphia Soul scene a secret from his strict preacher father for whom he was an organist. Meanwhile, Lilly meets her teenaged step-brother, Finn.

The featured “Sound of Philadelphia” songs:

• “Back Stabbers,” co-written by Leon Huff (recorded by The O’Jays), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles charts in 1972.
• “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” co-written by Kenneth Gamble & Leon Huff (recorded by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles charts in 1972.
• “Me & Mrs. Jones,” co-written by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff (recorded by Billy Paul), which reached No. 1 on both the Billboard R&B and Hot 100 Singles charts in 1972.
• “I’ll Be Around,” co-written by Thomas Bell (recorded by The Spinners), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Singles charts in 1972.
• “You’re The Reason,” co-written by kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff (recorded by The Ebony’s).
• “Brown Baby,” co-written by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff (recorded by Billy Paul).
• “Listen to the Clock on the Wall,” co-written by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff (recorded by The O’Jays).

Cold Case highlights the diverse and decisive Philadelphia Homicide Squad, and their ability to close cases once thought unsolvable. The team uses their wits to take on aging evidence and witnesses with buried memories, uncovering fresh clues, digging into old wounds and doggedly pursuing the truth. It stars Kathryn Morris (Lilly Rush), John Finn (Lt. John Stillman), Jeremy Ratchford (Nick Vera), Thom Barry (Will Jeffries) and Tracie Thomas (Kat Miller).

Guest stars on this weekend’s episode - written by Ryan Farley and directed by John Showalter - included Wesley Jonathan ("What I Like About You") as the victim, Billy; Loretta Devine ("Grey's Anatomy") as a choir girlfriend of Billy; and Anna Maria Horsford ("The Shield") as the owner of an after-hours Jazz club. Jamie Hector ("The Wire") and Steven Williams ("The X-Files") also guest star, respectively, as the 1970 and 2009 incarnations of a record label founder.

Music legends Gamble & Huff wrote over 3,500 songs within 35 years, including R&B #1 hits, pop #1 hits, gold and platinum records, Grammy winners and BMI songwriters' awards honorees. Featured prominently in television programs ("The Apprentice"), films ("The Nutty Professor") and advertising spots (Verizon, Old Navy, The Gap) for more than 30 years, Gamble and Huff's songs have entered the musical DNA of contemporary culture. In fact, one of their songs is played on the radio somewhere in the world every 13.5 minutes. With a stable of core artists led by the O'Jays, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Billy Paul, MFSB , and the Three Degrees, Gamble and Huff co-founded Philadelphia International Records and created monster hits almost from the first day of its inception, and continued to strike gold and platinum for additional artists such as The Jacksons, Patti LaBelle, Dusty Springfield, Jerry Butler, Lou Rawls, McFadden & Whitehead, Phyllis Hyman, Teddy Pendergrass and Dee Dee Sharp, among others. Songs they have written and produced together, like "Back Stabbers," "Love Train," "For The Love Of Money," "If You Don't Know Me By Now," "Cowboys to Girls," "Don't Leave Me This Way," "Enjoy Yourself," "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," "Only the Strong Survive" and "TSOP," have received songwriters' awards from Broadcast Music International (BMI). All told, the Gamble-Huff/PIR music machine" has generated over 100 Gold and Platinum records and over 70 #1 hits.

In 1999, four years after being inducted into the National Academy of Songwriters' Hall of Fame, Gamble & Huff were honored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences with the Trustees Award for their extensive body of work, both as producer and songwriter, and their contribution to the entire fabric of popular music. Last year, Gamble & Huff were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Gamble & Huff also have appeared on American Idol in a show devoted entirely to their music, and have been inducted twice into the Dance Music Hall of Fame and the R&B Hall of Fame.

Strange Sex Premieres

Discovery Health explores the puzzling and sometimes shocking world of sexual anomalies in "Strange Sex," premiering Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT.)

This hour-long special profiles four individuals - who break their silence and discuss their mysterious and debilitating sexual condition. With guidance from leading researchers and counselors, "Strange Sex" gets past the shame and embarrassment associated with sexual issues to candidly explore the intricacies, impact and treatment of each disorder.

Cases explored include:

Sex Allergy: After getting married, a young couple begins having unprotected sex—but the wife immediately experiences an extremely painful reaction to lovemaking. Their confusion is compounded when they are unable to become pregnant—until they learn that she is suffering from rare and seemingly unimaginable sexual abnormality.

Sex Addiction: A woman recounts her uncontrollable pursuit of sexual pleasure and her frightening battle with sexual compulsivity disorder.

Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder: Since childhood, a woman has suffered in silence from unrelenting episodes of sexual arousal, which can only be temporarily abated by self-stimulation. After finally being diagnosed, she and her doctor seek to alleviate the symptoms of the debilitating and consuming affliction that her physician describes as “Tourette’s syndrome of the genitals.”

Sexomnia: A woman’s boyfriend suspects that she may have unknowingly had sex with her ex-husband. Stunned, she learns that she suffers from sexomnia—a condition in which she has sex while sleeping, and wakes up with no recollection of her actions.

"Strange Sex" is produced for Discovery Health by Sirens Media. For Discovery Health, Alon Orstein is executive producer and for Sirens Media, Valerie Haselton is executive producer.

Twilight Star Pregnant

Shocker? Maybe not so much. Actress Sarah Clarke, who plays Renee Dwyer, "Bella's" (Kristen Stewart) mother is pregnant with her second child. She and husband, actor Xander Berkeley, have a daughter, Olwyn Harper, who was born September 23, 2006. You didn't really think that Stewart was the pregnant one, did you? Now, that, we admit, would be quite a news breaker.

The photo above shows as Clarke departs out of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) after filming her scenes for "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" on September 2, 2009. Clark also stars in the new film "Women In Trouble" and was a popular cast member on Fox's "24."

Brow Guru Launches Skincare Line

Anastasia Soare has long been synonymous with celebrities and eyebrows. She recently launched a cosmetics line, Anastasia Beverly Hills (and BeansTalk was extremely impressed with her mascara; it was some of the best we've ever sampled), Soare launches her skincare collection this month, with the release of the Line Erasing Serum.

Soare’s method of creating the illusion of "an instant face lift through correct brow shaping," say her reps, "is further developed by creating a serum to soften crow’s feet. Crow’s feet pull down the ends of the brows, creating an aged or tired look."

The serum, the reps say, erase "fine lines and wrinkles, dryness, crow’s feet, dark circles and puffiness." The serum contains a blend of natural hydrators, Instalift Goji, and Soare’s Balkan Botanical™ Infusion. Soare was dissatisfied with the current ingredients on the market, so she returned to her native Romania to find healthy products that naturally improve the texture, tone and appearance of skin.

She developed Balkan Botanical™ Infusion, a blend of plant and herb extracts found only in the rich soils of Romania. A few of these ingredients are Marshmallow Leaf, Lemon Balm Leaf, Bilberry, and Green Tea.

Per her rep, Anastasia Beverly Hills Line Erasing Serum Key Ingredients:

"Instalift Goji (Tibetan Goji Berry) – Gives the appearance of reduced fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. This powerful antioxidant provides immediate lift and, as discovered by clinical studies, improves the skin’s firmness by 26.8% within one hour of application.

Balkan Botanical™ Infusion – An antioxidant rich complex helps soften, soothe, and hydrate skin.

Sodium Hyaluronate – Delivers ideal hydration to smooth and refresh the eye area.

Chrysin and Hydroxysuccinimide – Mask the appearance of redness, while leaving the skin looking brighter and lighter, perfect for those pesky dark circles and puffiness."

Celebrity fans of Anastasia Beverly Hills include Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Sienna Miller, Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox and others.

Line Erasing Serum retails for $45 and is available at Sephora and online at www.anastasia.net.

Soare will release a second skincare product, the Sheer Moisture Crème SPF 30, a hydrating and ultra-light SPF 30 day cream for all skin types to be released in January 2010.

The fragrance-free formula "softens the skin while providing protection against broad-spectrum UVA/UVB rays and free radicals that can cause signs of aging. Sheer Moisture Crème SPF 30 contains hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, natural oils, and Anastasia’s exclusive Balkan Botanical™ Infusion."

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sheer Moisture Crème SPF 30 Key Ingredients (from their press release):

"Squalene – Colorless, odorless and greaseless oil derived from olives that penetrates skin deeply to moisturize, nourish, and lubricate, keeping the skin soft and supple. It also helps facilitate the absorption of other ingredients.

Balkan Botanical™ Infusion – An antioxidant rich complex helps soften, soothe, and hydrate skin.

Sodium Hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) – A natural skin component capable of retaining up to 1,000 times its weight in water, increases hydration, and enhances the appearance of skin elasticity.

Tocopherol – Naturally occurring antioxidant that helps the skin remain firm and healthy."

Sheer Moisture Crème SPF 30 will be launching in January 2010 exclusively at Nordstroms, retailing for $40.00.
