Larenim Gets Philanthropic for the Season

We’ve just started using Larenim and really like it – it has all the elements of “healthy” coverage through minerals and unique colors to that species of mineral makeup.

Larenim, one of the hottest new mineral make up lines on the market keeps up with the latest trends, and charitable events.

On November 29th Larenim made sure some of Hollywood’s top celebrities had a sample of their latest eye colors. At a very exclusive party held for a special taping of a major television show VIP guests such as Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, Stacey Kiebler, Marla Sokoloff, Natasha Henridge and others received a collection of Larenim’s holiday sparklers. Since these ladies live in the spotlight we want them to look gorgeous and be good to their skin.

Larenim, being part of Hollywood’s Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and The Skin Deep List stand by their product being 100% paraban free and extremely healthy for all skin types.

Larenim also continues to join forces with others to give back. On December 18th Larenim donates hot new products to The Creative Coalition for The 2006 Spotlight & Christopher Reeve Awards Gala. The events help to raise awareness for various research and cures. Larenim prides their products on helping prevent them. Many of our favorite cosmetics can contribute to cancer and birth defects therefore it’s important to know what you’re putting on your body.

Larenim kicks off 2007 once again with The Creative Coalition at The Pennhouse Lounge @ The Sundance Film Festival. Once again they'll work with TCC, a premier nonprofit, nonpartisan social and political advocacy organization of the entertainment industry.

This is their "silk" -- they also have probably the largest collection and varieties of colors for blush and eyeshadow. Who else has a goth line? www.larenim.com

It’s An Open and Shut Case: Two New Compacts from red earth

Make Eye Makeup Application Easy Introducing Absolute Brows Brow Perfecting Kit & Style Line Cream Eyeliner Palette

red earth cosmetics has made eye makeup application an open and shut case, thanks to two new launches in their season-less core collection that take the makeup compact to the next level. Introducing Absolute Brows, Brow Perfecting Kit and Style Line, Cream Eyeliner Palette, which both feature the makeup, tools, and instructions you need to apply makeup like a pro.

The ultimate in arch support, Absolute Brows, Brow Perfecting Kit has everything you need to tame even the wildest of brows. Available in Blond, Brunette or Mahogany, this sleek compact holds two complementing smudge-resistant hues for shading and filling in gaps, a creamy pomade to set brows, and miniature tools including an angled applicator brush, a combing wand, and mini tweezers. The compact also holds the secret to shaping and shading with step-by-step illustrated instructions on how to use the makeup and tools.

Dia Foley, Creative Director-North America, advises: “Follow the direction of the hair growth when applying powder—it will make brows appear smooth and will help define the edges.”

Walk the line from simple to smoky with Style Line, Cream Eyeliner Palette, a sleek compact that lines, defines, and takes you from day to evening with matte and coordinating metallic shine powders. From sophisticated to smoldering, hues include Midnight Reflections, a combination of Black, Dark Blue and Metallic Slate; Mystic Twilight, featuring Black, Dark Brown and Metallic Bronze; and Winter Fire, an all-metallic group of Wine, Olive/Bronze and Silver. Create a defined line with the thin liner brush, or achieve the perfect smoky eye with angled applicator brush and sponge applicator. Step-by-step visuals give you a fool-proof guide to line with a steady hand.

Dia Foley, Creative Director-North America, advises: “To get perfect kohl-rimmed eyes, use the thin liner brush to line the inner eye, blink hard and then blend the imprint left along the lash line. For smoky eyes, use the angled applicator brush to draw a thick line on the upper lid, then smudge upwards and outwards. Use the metallic shade over the top and on the lower lid for highlighting.”

Both kits will be available exclusively at Ulta nationwide or Ulta.com in spring 2007.

Absolute Brows, Brow Perfecting Kit: $22.00
Style Line, Cream Eyeliner Palette: $20.00

Tuesday TV

Our Favorites

Well, OK, the classic favorites of BeansTalk's ME. Let the rest of the staff compile their own. We are not ashamed to admit we're TV fans. Given our day job, we better be. Our family also watched The Real McCoys, but since we were a year-old when it went off the air, we don't remember it all that well. Speaking of that, telling our favorites is easily going to give away our age. We don't care. We love TV.
The Banana Splits

Talk about personality defining! Their wacky antics and mixxed media programming made the Splits one of our all-time favorite shows. We have tremendous fondness for them, especially our favorite Split, Fleegle. And the catchiness of the opening theme. We liked Danger Island, one of the chapters, a live-action one, in this series. But our all-time favorite was Tom Sawyer. We had quite the crush on Tom. He was a honey.
Bewitched

This is another show that has aired so consistently on cable it's gained an entirely new generation of fans. The retro facet of it is very strong, too. So much so that they made a not-well-received feature film with Nicole Kidman and Will Farrell (we actually thot it was OK, but apparently we were the only ones). We didn't think that the feature had much to do with the series. Elizabeth Montgomery's Samantha was another significant role model. And she was very pretty. Even tho the original Darrin was funny looking, we preferred him to the second one, who seemed in a state of constant agitation.
Kimba, The White Lion

God, we loved Kimba. How cute was he? The most horrible, disappointing tragedy was to find that the show is back on some god cable channel and they have edited it, hacked it to pieces to put it into some kind of religious theme. We actually had pain when we tuned it. We turned it off right away as not to ruin our special memories of the REAL Kimba.
Lassie

Jon Provst was the Lassie boy we remember and here's a pic of him. We used to play this. I used to be Timmy and our cousin was Lassie. We think it stems from our childhood-long desire for a dog. Lassie was so obedient and smart. Just like our dog. OK, not really, but we love him even more.
The Flintstones (Gazoo)

Now we look at the Flintstones and can't imagine why we loved it so much. But we do have a very affectionate fondness for the episodes when Gazoo entered Fred's world. We haven't seen those in repeats, although we bet they do exists. He was cute and funny. And had that ever-impressive British accent.
Speed Racer

He's reached some kind of kitchy pinnacle at this point, but back in the day (ok, way way back in the day), we were hooked. Most of all, on the theme song.
Scooby Doo

Because this is almost more popular than in our day, we almost didn't put this up. But we did watch it religiously, even though it always ended the same way! We stopped watching when Scrappy Doo entered the picture. Apparently, other fans felt the same way, especially since dislike for Scrappy was the twist in the "live-action" feature of a few years ago. The Chairman of the Board watched it for awhile, although he certainly doesn't tune into it regularly.
Gigantor

What we remember about this is the theme song. One Halloween a couple of years ago, some guy a few blocks away, made this amazing costume that was really Iron Giant, but to us it was Gigantor.
Nanny and the Professor

Phoebe Figalilly was a funny name indeed, but we adored this show so much that our first trip to Europe we had a cap and cape just like Juliet Mills' -- our mother, quite the seamstress in those days made it. We were the stylin' seven-year-old. This was such a good show and although we always wanted Nanny and the Professor to get together (this was to create a theme for the rest of our television/film life), we loved the kids, and the dog, and everything. Much, much later, when we were at People, we interviewed Kim Richards, who at this time was best known for being Paris' and Nicky's aunt (their mom is her sis). In the process, we got to talk to Juliet Mills, who is on this crazy soap called Passions now.

I Dream of Jeannie

We remember dancing that opening animated part and our family loving it. We also remember when we finally became too old for it to be cute and they were glad for our dance to be over. This show has a tremendous retro factor now because its entire run was on TV Land. Still, we loved it. Loved it. Maybe not with the seriousness of That Girl, but loved it anyway. This is another show where Major Nelson just can't be that old guy on Nip/Tuck. The one who had his dangly man-parts made into the size of a lime. Or was it a Lemon?

That Girl

Probably the most seminal show in our tiny childhood. Ah, that perky Ann Marie! We aspired soooo much to look like her. We had the hairdo, our mother made dresses, one that was very similar to the one in this photo. She was our first girl-crush. A most definite role model. We don't even relate to her being the woman who was on The View last week talking about her St. Jude charity (although we love that she does that). We don't think about her with Phil Donahue. Just Donald Hollinger. Right now, TV Land is showing it at 2:30 a.m. and we've been dvr'ing it. It's fun to watch again.
