Nat Geo’s Fish Bowl

From the award-winning team that launched the careers of The Dog Whisperer and The Incredible Dr. Pol, Nat Geo WILD is proud to announce the latest face of the network — “Goldie.” New to the Hollywood scene, this up-and-coming “actor,” who also happens to be a goldfish, snagged the leading role in Fish Bowl, the highly anticipated four-hour reality special premiering Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (For more information, visit www.natgeowild.com and follow us on Twitter at twitter.com/NGC_PR.)

Venerable household goldfish Goldie is excited for her big break to star in the event of the year on Super Bowl Sunday, stating, “I’m comfortable in my own scales and have no doubt the Fish Bowl will be the talk of the town.”

Sure, puppies are cute, kittens are ok and football … well, as Goldie likes to say, “It’s just another day in the Bowl.” Predatory cats, canines and field goals are just the beginning. This remarkable little goldfish handles whatever the tides throw at her — food, a scuba diver, crazy red crabs, erupting volcanoes, even a surprise visit from Dr. Pol and Cesar Millan.

The controversial decision to offer the lead to a newcomer was an easy one, explains Geoff Daniels, EVP and General Manager of Nat Geo WILD. “Goldie showed such promise in early casting auditions that we felt confident in the aquatic wonder’s ability to entertain and captivate an audience, for four long hours, on a relatively young network, while the most-watched television event of the year just happens to be taking place.”

In the vein of other reality series, where the daily drama of a character’s life plays out in a “fishbowl” setting, Goldie will swim about her daily business in an actual fishbowl. Without filters and with remarkable candor, Goldie navigates through an average day in the life of a goldfish. When asked how this stacks up to her competition, Goldie offered, “Can Bruno Mars pack all of that into his halftime show? Right, I didn’t think so, blub, blurb, bubble.”

Cesar Milan to the Rescue!

Cesar 911 Premieres Friday, March 7, at 9 PM ET/PT on Nat Geo WILD

They bark incessantly. They nip at your fingers and toes. They growl and bare their teeth. They annoy friends and fellow dog walkers. And sometimes they scare the ones you love. When the neighborhood has literally gone to the dogs, someone needs to pick up the phone and dial Cesar 911!

Cesar Millan (@cesarmillan) is back, and this time he’s bringing his unmatched canine abilities to communities terrorized by unruly hounds. His new series, Cesar 911, produced by ITV Studios America (“Hell’s Kitchen,” “Four Weddings”) in association with Leepson Bounds Entertainment, premieres Friday, March 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Nat Geo WILD. The series also premieres on Nat Geo Mundo March 7 and internationally on Nat Geo WILD as Cesar to the Rescue in April. For more information, visit www.natgeowild.com and www.cesarsway.com, and follow us on Twitter (@NGC_PR).

Each week, Cesar travels to a new neighborhood in desperate need of his help. He is summoned by co-workers, relatives, friends and neighbors who “blow the whistle” on a four-legged menace that has turned their lives upside down. Cesar witnesses firsthand how the dogs wreak havoc on the community sidewalk, dog parks … even restaurants and offices! Whether it’s a spoiled Chihuahua going wild in a family business or an aggressive mutt spreading fear throughout the neighborhood, Cesar uses his unparalleled expertise to bring balance to the dogs and the community.

In most instances, the owners unknowingly reinforce their dog’s problem behavior. Some treat their dogs like spoiled children, ignoring their bad habits or dismissing them as “not that bad.” Others show fear and hesitation when handling their dogs, allowing the dogs to gain the upper hand and “lead” their humans. In one instance, a couple’s relationship woes and the resulting anxiety and tension transfer directly to their dog and negatively affect his behavior.

When Cesar arrives in the neighborhood, he quickly evaluates the situation at hand and within moments begins to turn the situation around. He’s not a magician. His calm, assertive approach to rehabilitating problem dogs produces rapid results. But in many instances, rehabilitating the dog is not the hard part. Training the humans to be composed, confident pack leaders themselves is the tricky part.

Each episode of Cesar 911 will consist of two stories within one community. Cesar first meets with the whistle-blowers to get briefed on the situation. He then evaluates both the dogs and owners through impromptu visits to the businesses and neighborhood locations where the dogs display their problem behavior. At times, he can provide quick and effective training right on the street. In more serious situations, he must relocate the dogs to his Dog Psychology Center for more in-depth rehabilitation, or invite owners to his new Home Learning Annex to practice and improve upon their leadership skills in a controlled environment.

Cesar uses surveillance cameras after he works with the dogs and owners to track progress and ensure a lasting solution. The final test comes when all parties gather together at a central meeting place within the community; owners equipped with the knowledge and tools only Cesar can provide, and dogs ready to show off the new behaviors they have mastered. The transformations are inspiring, and the positive impacts on the affected communities are extraordinary. Once again, Cesar saves the day as only he can!

Premiere episodes include:

Cesar 911: Family Feud
Premieres Friday, March 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Orange County whistle-blower Debi alerts Cesar to her neighbors, the Dong family, who are scared of their first family dog — a black Lab mix named Misty who has bitten every member of the household. Debi and other neighbors have suggested the Dongs do the unthinkable: put Misty to sleep. Cesar immediately notices that Misty is showing signs of insecurity and, after working with the family, suggests taking Misty to his new Dog Psychology Center to help her build confidence around his pack. Will Misty return home a changed dog for the Dongs? Cesar’s next stop takes him to whistle-blower Brad, who is having major trouble with his sister Nicole’s Shiba Inu mix, Auggie. Auggie constantly attacks Brad’s dog, Kimo, at family outings. Cesar teaches Brad and Nicole about giving dogs boundaries as well as personal space, and points out that their nervous energy leads to aggression in their dogs. But can he arm these siblings with enough skills to end this canine rivalry once and for all?

Cesar 911: Boss with a Bark
Premieres Friday, March 14, at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Whistle-blowers Lori Jo and Patti are fed up with their boss Takis’s three unruly bichons frises, collectively named the “Moos,” who constantly disrupt business by barking obsessively, knocking over trash cans and even honking the delivery truck’s horn! Even Takis’s wife, Joanne, has had enough of the unruly Moos, but Takis doesn’t see anything wrong with their uncontrollable behavior. Cesar must convince Takis to change his ways so that his beloved dogs will stop terrorizing everyone around them. Cesar then heads to the Freedom Writer’s Foundation to meet whistle-blowers Tiffony and Sue Ellen, whose workplace is being disrupted by their boss Ms. G’s Labrador retriever, Beau. Though Ms. G’s work teaching at-risk youth was featured in a major motion picture, she can’t seem to change bad boy Beau’s behavior. Cesar concludes that Beau is a dominant dog that feels the need to protect his environment, due to the fact that Ms. G gives the dog too much affection and too little discipline. Cesar works on exercises with Ms. G to help her write a new chapter for her and her Beau.

Cesar 911: Dog Fight
Premieres Friday, March 21, at 9 p.m. ET/PT
In the posh hills above Sherman Oaks, Calif., whistle-blower Josh needs Cesar’s help with his neighbors Lilly and Nadav, who have no control over their aggressive boxers, Chip and Mocha. These dogs terrorize their neighborhood and have attacked more than 15 other dogs. Lilly and Nadav quickly assert their fears about Mocha, who they consider to be a “silent killer” and the more dangerous of the pair. Next, Cesar meets with whistle-blower Lorraine, a dance instructor who is greatly concerned for her pregnant business partner Stefanie’s fearful and aggressive Chihuahua, Nuts. Cesar observes Nuts in Stefanie’s arms, trying to bite every student who signs in. He invites Stefanie and her husband to his home training annex where he teaches them how to create boundaries for Nuts. Will they learn the right moves so they can two-step away with a calmer, happier pet?

Several posts ago we mentioned how we’re battling the bulge. The other night, we tried a variation of the classic Joy of Cooking recipe (that “chefs” like Trisha Yearwood are trying to co-op) Cornflake Chicken. It’s an alternative to fried chicken, baked chicken with a crunch. We didn’t have any Cornflakes in the house, so we used two Doctor Kracker Seeded Spelt Cracker Bread and a cup and a half of Special K. We crushed the Spelt and cereal as best as we good. We put aside three flash-frozen chicken thighs, which we sprinkled with sea salt. We took two eggs and 1/4 cup of milk (we used non-fat), and beat them together, dredged the chicken through the liquid and then covered each piece with the crushed cracker/cereal mix (to which we added three dashes of Lawry’s season salt and pepper to taste). We then placed in a buttered oven-safe casserole dish and baked for 1 hr. and 20 mins at 350-degrees. It was very yummy, didn’t need any gravy or sauce and satisfied the normal craving for a starch (carb!). We served it with fresh green beans we made with almonds, as well a sliced avocado and handfuls of grape tomatoes. Healthy and tasty!

DPA’s Annual Golden
Globes Gift Lounge

by Griselda Flores

DPA's Nathalie Dubois
From chocolate to jewelry to clothing, the DPA Gift Lounge had it all. And that's because DPA has been hosting these gifting suites for nine years and Nathalie Dubois, CEO of DPA, knows what celebs want! "I know a lot of celebrities. I go to their houses to get a feel of what's going on. And that's how I know what they want and what they like."

The pre-awards luxury gift lounge took place at the posh LUXE Hotel on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The lounge was set up for three days and received a lot of celebrity traffic. Among those were: Jeremy Renner (American Hustle), Meghan Ory (Once Upon A Time), actor Dennis Quaid, Raphael Sbarge (Once Upon A Time), Angela Bassett (American Horror Story) and Shohreh Aghdashloo (Grimm).

Jill's Chocolates

Night Fox Jewelry

A jewelry designer that caught a lot of celebs attention was Alice Nemeti's (Alice's Chic Boutique) colorful pieces: "I'm so happy to be here! An Access Hollywood reporter picked one of my rings to wear on the red carpet while doing interviews. I told her please if anyone asks where you got that ring, say it was from me!"

Another jewelry table visited by celebs was, Foxine by Theresa Lee Capell who came from Canada to showcase her pieces made out of recycled items. "Two actors from Once Upon A Time took some of my pieces! It feels great!"

Dubois believes their popularity is simply because they are unique. "We go everywhere I go to fashion shows like in Peru. We go to trade commissions here and there... That's why we're so different from everyone else. We put a lot of effort in it."

The glitz! The glamour! The so-glad-I-didn't-have-to-cover-it!

The annual Golden Globes -- when the streets of Beverly Hills shuts down in support of the Foreign Press Awards! Hollywood's hottest turn out at the tony and legendary Beverly Hilton Hotel, where the awards and post-parties are held.

With thanks to our talented industry-insider friend, Mitchell Waer, BeansTalk presents an array of exclusive Golden Globe photos.

She takes a bite out of life! Kelly Osbourne, who defies description, except as Ozzy Osbourne's youngest daughter.

Rita Wilson, so very lucky to become relevant again in her role as Marnie's annoying mother in HBO's hit "Girls," and her husband, that multi-award winning star of television's "Bosom Buddies."

Chris Pine (in Zegna) opines to the press.

If the photographers used their notes as a fan against the Los Angeles' heat, they might blow away the unbelievably thin newlywed Zoe Saldana, who chose this uniquely pretty gown Prabal Gurung in what appears to be a size ---00. Her minaudière is Bottega Venetta and shoes by Christian Louboutin.

Jessica Chastain, beautiful in her black velvet Givenchy Haute Couture gown with Bvlgari jewelry.

Expectant mummy Drew Barrymore braved super-high peep toe Roger Vivier pumps with her Monique Lhuillier gown.  That's an Edie Parker clutch, too. She's also wearing Chanel Fine Jewelry.

Taylor Swift hopped on the color-block gown trend in this ensemble by Carolina Herrera. She also wore Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Jennifer Lawrence wore Dior Haute Couture (and carried a Roger Vivier clutch) -- and did not trip on the way to receive her award.

Mila Kunis wore Gucci Premiere, Gemfields and Marina B. jewelry, and shockingly didn't attend with Ashton Kutcher.

Elegant Uma Thurman in Atilier Versace and Chopard jewelry.

Sandra Bullock (her "Gravity" pulled in a win for Best Director) in a Prabal Gurung gown, in the hot style, bold color block. She also wore Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Jimmy Fallon (in custom Saint Laurent) is late for something.

Beautiful GG 2014 winner, Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive, jewels by Chopard.

Matthew McConaughey (in Dolce & Gabbana), whose new HBO series,  "True Detective," premiered GG night (and it's pretty great, btw).
