Coming Up On "Everest: Beyond The Limit," Discovery Channel's Critically-Acclaimed Six-Part Series -- Premieres Tuesdays through December 19; Marathon of First Five Episodes Airs December 17 --


Everest: Beyond The Limit, the critically-acclaimed six-part documentary series that follows one team as they struggle to make it to the top of the planet's highest peak, continues to air premiere episodes every Tuesday at 10PM (ET/PT).

On Tuesday, December 19, the sixth and final episode, titled "The Final Cost," sees triumph turn to tragedy as team members encounter a dying climber from another expedition. And double amputee Mark Inglis' summit comes at a steep price -- he suffers from severe frostbite and needs the help of his teammates and Sherpas to make it down the mountain safely.

To allow viewers a chance to catch up before the emotional December 19 finale, Discovery Channel will feature a back-to-back marathon of the first five episodes on Sunday, December 17, from 3PM to 8PM (ET/PT).

For Everest: Beyond The Limit, called "easily the best documentary on Everest, perhaps the finest footage on climbing ever produced" by the Orange County Register, Discovery Channel filmed a two-month summit attempt in Spring 2006. To capture the most breathtaking images of a climb ever shown on television, producers utilized high-altitude cameras mounted on Sherpa helmets which provided the first-ever minute-by-minute account of an Everest summit attempt.
