Singer/songwriter/violinist Theresa Andersson has just released her Basin Street Records debut Shine. The album is a sassy, in-your-face collection of pop/rock songs: all originals.

"[Shine] captures lightning in a bottle...melodic and tasty... it rocks intelligently in the way that old records by ace musicians Traffic, Santana and Steely Dan did."
- Sun Herald

"...[with] angelic vocal attributes and an acute sense of dynamics... [Theresa] shines forth." - Jazzreview.com

Shine exposes Andersson to a national audience. Andersson rocked an audience of 20,000+ at the New Orleans' Jazz and Heritage Festival and Shine garnered the weekend's coveted top selling album at the Jazz Fest music store. Turner’s Terrorist Film: The international counter-terrorism team inches closer to their target, a terrorist mastermind named Muhammad, while the situation becomes more personal for those involved as Turner Network Television (TNT), in association with the BBC, continues its look at the issue of terrorism in the original limited series THE GRID. Julianna Margulies (ER, Evelyn) and Dylan McDermott (The Practice, Wonderland) star in the limited series, making its third installment Monday, Aug. 2, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

In THE GRID's third installment, MI5 senior director Derek Jennings (Bernard Hill) detains one of Muhammad's young recruits, Akil (Emil Marwa), and uncovers important information linking Muhammad (Alki David) to the sarin attack and other terrorist activities, including the sabotage of cargo ships in the United Kingdom. As the interagency team hunts for likely "sleepers," they discover the identity of a young Chechen-American, Kaz Moore (Barna Moricz), who may have ties to Muhammad.

Meanwhile, Hud Benoit (James Remar) attempts to prove his loyalty to his girlfriend, NSC director Maren Jackson (Julianna Margulies), by agreeing to work undercover for the team. While meeting with one of his oil contacts in Saudi Arabia, he is discovered as a spy, taken into custody by the Saudi government and held on corruption charges. But, in turn, the Saudi government gives up vital information to Jackson, leading to Muhammad's true identity.

Dr. Mutar (Silas Carson), who is conflicted over his religious beliefs and the terrorist actions he has been called to commit, is compelled by Muhammad to cooperate after Muhammad gives orders to have Mutar's sister kidnapped and beaten. This leads Mutar to believe Cairo's secret police was involved, stirring within him a determination to seek revenge. But he learns too late that his rage may be directed at the wrong people.

THE GRID involves a terrorist cell operating on a global level and a team of American and British counter-terrorists who are tasked with stopping it. It focuses on the emotional cost of war on victims, as well as the emotional cost on those fighting terrorism. In addition to Margulies and McDermott, THE GRID stars Bernard Hill (Lord of the Rings), Jemma Redgrave (Howard's End, Bramwell), James Remar (Sex and the City, Blade: Trinity), Piter Marek (Barbarians: A Battle for Rome), Silas Carson (Hidalgo), Alki David, Paula Devicq (Party of Five, 100 Centre Street) and Barna Moricz, with Robert Forster (Jackie Brown, Mulholland Dr.) and Tom Skerritt (Tears of the Sun, High Noon).

Directed by Emmy®-winning director Mikael Salomon (Band of Brothers, TNT's Salem's Lot), THE GRID is an international production shot on location in Toronto, London and Morocco. Fox Television Studios produced the limited series in conjunction with Groveland Pictures and Carnival Films. Tracey Alexander (Thanks of a Grateful Nation, Sins of the Father) serves as executive producer, along with Brian Eastman (Traffik) of Carnival Films. The teleplay by Ken Friedman is based on a story by Alexander & Friedman.

Airs Mondays, starting August 2, 2004, at 9 p.m.

Reality “Soap”: SOAPnet, the new way to watch soaps, begins production on its first reality series, “I Wanna Be A Soap Star,” announced Deborah Blackwell, General Manager SOAPnet. The series has been picked-up for six episodes and will premiere in October.

“I Wanna Be a Soap Star,” a one-hour reality drama from LMNO Cable Group is the casting call of a lifetime. One winner, the ultimate prize…a role on ABC’s “General Hospital.” The series captures six aspiring actors who will live full-time on the set of an actual soap opera. As the cameras roll 24/7, they capture every moment of triumph, tribulation, manipulation and tears as the contestants play out their fantasies to become soap stars, as fictional characters by day and themselves by night. When work is done for the day, will the steam fizzle or will the storyline continue to sizzle? Will viewers be able to tell the difference between ‘reel life’ and ‘real life’? One by one, a panel of experts in the field of acting, casting and television production will eliminate cast members until one remains to become ABC’s next soap star.

“’I Wanna Be A Soap Star’ is a natural fit for SOAPnet. In LMNO, we found the right producers who provided the perfect creative spin,” said Blackwell. “We are thrilled to bring this series to our viewers. It will offer them everything they’ve come to expect from reality shows, soaps and SOAPnet.”

“This is a great format for reality because it is all one big real life soap opera,” stated Eric Schotz, the show’s executive producer. “From fight scenes to love scenes, the contestants will be tested both on and off camera around the clock.”

“I Wanna Be A Soap Star” is a production of LMNO Cable Group for SOAPnet. Eric Schotz, Bill Paolantonio and Lisa Bourgoujian serve as executive producers. Mary Ellen DiPrisco, Vice President of Original Programming, is spearheading the project for SOAPnet.
