The Beach Boys (current line-up)

Auction for Charity

Fashion designer Jacquelyne Love and her husband Mike Love of The Beach Boys have announced an online charity auction featuring high fashion items, Beach Boy collectibles and amazing experiences. The auction will launch in conjunction with Ms. Love's Fashion for Passion Spring '06 fashion show presented during a Beach Boys concert on Monday, October 10, 2005, at a Hollywood nightclub, where the Loves will present a check from The Love Foundation in the amount of $100,000 to The American Red Cross.

The American Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs. When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, and health and mental health services to address basic human needs. In addition to these services, the core of Red Cross disaster relief is the assistance given to individuals and families affected by disaster to enable them to resume their normal daily activities independently.

Fashion for Passion online bidders at www.charityfolks.com, will have an opportunity to win a private concert from the Beach Boys as well as the chance to make music history with a debut performance, singing Barbara Ann on stage with the group. Other auction highlights include amazing memorabilia such as a Beach Boys Personalized RIAA Certified Sounds of Summer Platinum Album and an Epiphone Les Paul Jr. Guitar signed by Hall of Famers Mike Love & Bruce Johnston. This will benefit Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, said Love, who has offered this custom designed wardrobe from her anticipated Spring 2006 collection.

Other items, include a Jacquelyne Love one-of-a-kind hand-crocheted Brazilian swimsuit, trips such as a seven-night southern Caribbean cruise and a Rio de Janeiro getaway, as well as Diamond Earrings & Ring accessories from designer Charles Winston.

Proceeds from the auction, which will run from noon EST on October 10, 2005 through October 20, 2005 at 6 p.m. EST, will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which will enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina as well as the thousands of other disasters that the Red Cross responds to each year. All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. Posted by Picasa
