"Crazy Hearts: Nashville," a new A&E reality series. |
A&E’s new original series Crazy Hearts: Nashville follows up-and-coming country musicians as they balance life, love and their pursuit of stardom, one gig at a time. This series highlights the struggle, the romance and the music that fuels this iconic city. Crazy Hearts: Nashville premieres Wednesday, January 15th at 11PM ET/PT and Thursday, January 16th at 10PM ET/PT and continues every Thursday at 10PM ET/PT.
Fiery relationships, killer performances and stiff competition cause rivalries both on and off stage. Nightly regulars of the social scene, this diverse group of country music artists and industry insiders can’t help but intertwine their personal and professional lives. There is no shortage of love triangles and talent in this town, and these songbirds know it all too well.
Southern belle Lee Holyfield is the daughter of legendary songwriter Wayland Holyfield. Lee has set her sights on following in her dad’s footsteps, but after a recent break-up, she’s been busy mending a broken heart. The culprit is Leroy Powell, a country rocker who has toured with the likes of ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Leroy’s career is set to explode; now he just needs to square away his love life. One new prospect is Hannah Fairlight is a sultry and tough-talking songwriter hailing from Atlanta. She has only been in town for a few months but she’s already shaking things up.
Leroy’s best friend is Anthony Billups, a singer/songwriter with a heart of gold and part owner of The Building, one of Nashville’s newest destinations for budding talent. In addition to his own billboard dreams, he’s hopelessly in love with on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend Amy Wilcox. After getting her big break opening for Kellie Pickler, Amy hopes this is her year to hit the big time.
Jimmy Stanley is a cowboy crooner and bartender at the famous Bluebird Café. For years he’s been a spectator of the talent performing at this Nashville institution, and now it’s his turn to take the stage. At his side is girlfriend and manager, April Nemeth who hopes she can survive breaking the first rule of the music biz: don’t mix business and pleasure.
It’s all about who you know in Nashville, and that’s where Music City insider Heather Byrd comes in. She is the glue between these artists, and is often seen on the red carpet giving her “Byrd’s Eye View.” Heather has a knack for being in the right place at the right time when it comes to business, but never when it comes to matters of the heart.
