MaxMara’s Runway for Charity

Nicola Maramotti of MaxMara and The Colleague Helpers In Philanthropic Services hosted a luncheon benefiting The Children’s Institute Incorporated

Exclusive runway presentation of MaxMara Fall/Winter 2006 collection

WHAT: Bringing a little bit of Italian flare to Hollywood, Nicola Maramotti of MaxMara, made her debut appearance in Los Angeles and presented the Fall/Winter 2006 collection from the Italian design house at the annual C.H.I.P.S. spring luncheon. The grounds of the estate were transformed into a chic outdoor venue allowing for an unabridged runway show and seated luncheon where guests dined on delicious cuisine by The Kitchen. Nearly 400 guests were treated to a formal runway presentation featuring the first showing of the MaxMara Fall/Winter 2006 Collection in the United States. The Collection comprised of sexy cloaks and tuxedos, show stopping skirts and cashmere hoodies in a palette of icy tones of black, navy blue, grey and red highlighted by lavish sequins was high point of the event. This special presentation benefited the Children’s Institute Incorporated (CII), one of the premier children's service organizations to prevent violence against children in Los Angeles. CII serves more than 10,000 children and families each year through treatment, prevention, early care and education, and community services programs.

About MaxMara

Commonly described by the press as the “Quiet Giant,” MaxMara is a house that blossomed from obscurity to cult status while no one was watching. What began in 1951 as a perfectly timed idea continues in 2006 as a sophisticated, elegant alternative in an every changing world of fashion and fads. MaxMara is designed for the woman who knows her own mind and speaks with her own language of style, one that is understated and elegant, timeless and luxurious. She is the undisputed icon of ladylike style, which she interprets with a modern, feminine spirit.

About The C.H.I.P.S

Founded in 1966, The Colleague Helpers in Philanthropic Services (C.H.I.P.S.) was created as a subgroup to The Colleagues so that younger members of the Los Angeles community could work to support Children’s Institute Incorporated (CII). Many of the original members of The C.H.I.P.S. were daughters of members of the Colleagues. This practice continues today.
