New From BBC America

Sarah Parish (Viva Blackpool, Cutting It) stars as a big city detective who uncovers murder in her town in a spine tingling new thriller. If I Had You premieres Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT.

Police detective Sharon Myers (Sarah Parish) swaps the bright lights of the big city to join the police force in the sleepy town where she was raised. At a school reunion she meets her childhood best friend, Helen (Poppy Miller), and they recall old times. Helen, now married and heavily pregnant, shows off her bump and husband Phil (Paul McGann, Sea of Souls, Dr. Who).

The morning after the reunion, Sharon finds herself at the forefront of a murder inquiry when the body of a young female teacher is found in the local reservoir. As the investigation gets underway her colleagues are unaware that her professional role is likely to be compromised as clues start to suggest that the main suspect is Phil – Helen’s husband and formerly Sharon’s secret lover.

Phil admits he once had an affair with the murdered woman but denies any involvement in her death. As the inquiry proceeds, history repeats itself and Sharon once again becomes entangled in a passionate affair. Desperate to help her lover, she finds herself tempted to hide vital evidence to protect him. Helen, under increasing stress as the police get nearer to discovering the truth, reveals childhood insecurities that could provide a clue to solving the crime.
