BeansTalk Note: We just visited the Brighton outlet in Cabazon, we love their stuff. Even at a discount, what we liked (a super cute shoulder flat back in red pony) was a little steep for us (we're conserving our coin).

Anyway, this is very cool:

Brighton’s Charity

Brighton, an accessories company who puts their hearts into donating to charities focused on women’s health as well as producing unique designs, is continuing a longstanding tradition of designing jewelry to raise awareness and donate funds to tackle the issues that are important to women.

Since 2004, Brighton has donated over $800,000 to the American Heart Association by designing limited edition jewelry and they are once again committed to supporting this important cause for 2008. This year, the donation will be over $260,000!

Too few people realize that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of American women. Each year, nearly twice as many women die from cardiovascular diseases as well as from all forms of cancer combined. But the good news is that heart disease can largely be prevented. Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s nationwide movement that celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to band together and wipe out heart disease.

The 2008 Brighton Go Red For Women bracelet has eight silver links. Seven of the links frame hearts with pierced scrollwork and the eighth frames the American Heart Association's signature "Red Dress," which symbolizes the commitment to raising awareness about heart disease among women. (The people at Brighton believe that like the links in the bracelet, by closely linking together to support this charity, we can empower everyone we touch to increase control over the risk factors that contribute to heart disease.) Engraved across the bracelet’s links is the inspiring quote, “The biggest thing in the world – bigger than the ocean and the sky – is your heart.”

The limited edition bracelets will be available at Brighton Collectibles stores and participating retailers from January 12th through February 15th, 2008. For each $50 bracelet sold, Brighton Collectibles will donate $10 to the American Heart Association. Throughout the month, participating stores will also host events with speakers to increase awareness and share tips and information.

Known for excellent quality and a broad-ranging assortment of finely crafted accessories, Brighton produces handbags, belts, footwear, small leather essentials, eyewear, luggage, fragrances and gifts.
