HGTV's Property Brothers Host
‘Top 50 Country Countdown’
HGTV's Property Brothers — Drew Scott and Jonathan Scott —have been tapped to host Great American Country’s annual year-end Top 50 Country Countdown, which premieres as a five-hour marathon event today, Sunday, December 22 at 1:30 pm ET. The twin brothers who were recently tagged among “15 All-Time Hottest Hotties on HGTV” by BuzzFeed.com and as two of the “Six Reasons to Watch HGTV” by Sheknows.com, will emcee the fan-voted countdown and chat with country music artist guests whose videos have been among the most requested this year.
“We are big fans of country music,” said Drew. “Hosting Great American Country's Top 50 Country Countdown is an honor, and it’ll be a lot of fun.”
“I’m going to do my best to get Drew in a Dolly Parton wig,” joked Jonathan.
The event filmed in Las Vegas earlier this month as a five-part limited series and feature interviews with the hottest country music artists, to be announced. Following its marathon premiere today, Sunday, Dec. 22, the series will air in five installments nightly the week of Dec. 23 at 10/9c. Fans chose their favorite videos from 120 options, but only 50 will make it into the countdown.
The Brothers, contractors and real estate experts who star on HGTV's top-rated series, Property Brothers, Buying and Selling, and Brother Vs. Brother, are not only passionate about remodeling fixer-uppers, but they also love to perform. Jonathan and Drew have been involved in film and television since they were kids. When not spending time on camera, Jonathan is an award-winning illusionist in Las Vegas, while Drew focuses his attention on directing and producing films. Their charisma and entertaining chemistry make them a perfect fit for the Top 50 Country Countdown, which is consistently one of Great American Country’s highly-watched events of the year.
“Top 50 Country Countdown is our annual celebration of the year in country music,” said Sarah Trahern, senior vice president and general manager of Great American Country. “Having Jonathan and Drew host this event makes the 2013 series exceptionally special. We expect their fans will really enjoy seeing them is this new role.”
Viewer voting for Top 50 Country Countdown was ongoing through Saturday, November 30.
