Lancel Launches in the U.S.
Handbag Fans Unite
L.A. Fashion Week may be over, but the scrutiny of celebrity handbags is a favorite of fashion magazines. There was the Birkin, the Dior Saddle bag, the Fendi Mamma and Baguette, Halle Berry and her Bathqol, Reese Witherspoon and her Luella Bartlett, Britney Spears and her Surly Girl director bag, and so on.
Now fashionistas may have to keep an eye out for the newly re-launched-in-the-U.S. Lancel. Angelina Jolie saw one that had been pulled for her cover shoot and promptly carried it home, she liked it so much and Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child also will be carrying one in the group’s new video, "Girl."
In France since 1876, Lancel hopes to gain the notoriety they’ve had in Europe for the past 129 years, again, in North America. Lancel adheres to the philosophy that a handbag is more than an accessory; it is an emotional extension of one's lifestyle, a reflection of the woman who wears it. Now, don’t you feel that way about a special handbag? BeansTalk does.
PKO Inc. will distribute Lancel in North America. PKO Inc. President Pierre Keyser says, "Lancel brings a long tradition and European mystique to the US marketplace.”
The Lancel Spring 2005 collection features more than nine contemporary handbag styles. They also have a contemporary luggage line. Lancel's Spring/Summer 2005 collection is available in select high-end specialty stores and better department stores such as Marshall Fields and in Canada, Holt Renfrew. There’s also a new boutique in Beverly Hills. In addition, Lancel is sold in more than 1,000 locations in 75 countries around the world.
Bags retail between $300 and $600, with limited exotics higher.
