Elizabeth MasonVintage Fashion Show The Fashion Group International Los Angeles (FGI-LA) Foundation presents the "Vintage Couture Road Show," in the spirit of "Antiques Roadshow,” on Thursday, May 19, 2005 from 6:30 – 9 p.m.. The event, hosted by Elizabeth Mason of The Paper Bag Princess (seen above), in honor of the group’s 70th anniversary, was created to raise funds for fashion scholarships.
"Vintage Roadshow" will feature live appraisals of designer vintage clothing by Mason who is a member of the Appraisers Association of American with a specialty appraiser’s license for important vintage clothing, costumes and textiles. She is the author of Valuable Vintage, a pricing guide to vintage couture, published by Random House and owns boutiques in Beverly Hills and Toronto. www.paperbagprincess.com.
A panel discussion on "The Joys & Perils of Collecting Vintage Designer Fashion, and How Vintage Couture Fashions Influence Main-Stream Contemporary Collections of Important Designers Worldwide" will follow the appraisals. Guest panelists include Mason, actress and vintage couture collector Kelly Lynch, and New York couture designer Maggie Norris, who’s featured at Bergdorf Goodman, New York. Additional panelists will be announced at a later date.
Price of admission and appraisal (limited to one item) is $75.00 for FGI-LA members, $85.00 for non-members. Admission only is $45.00 and $55.00 respectively. Press admission with appraisal is $65.00 press admission only is $35.00.
