Sensational Saja
Of all the shows at L.A. Fashion Week, Saja was probably our favorite, in terms of sheer accessibility and major appeal. Yoo Lee actually designs dresses that are not only beautiful, but that real people would wear. Instead of blinging up her show or overdoing it as so many were, the highlight, as it should be, were the clothes. The Saja show was a surprise, but a very welcome one. The designs were consistently want-a-ble and there were never a miss.

Saja Trends:
Mid-calf socks with heels
Lots of sumptuous velvet in rich colors – Saja was one of the few shows in which the headliner “Fall/Winter” had meaning
The first ensemble made us gasp, and it featured the sable velvet blouson jacket over an amber rose paillette dress. That jacket, which seemed either Victorian or even Edwardian-inspired, also was shown in slate.
A velvet bolero (so cute) followed, worn over sable pullover with Hepburn trousers (translate: high-waist)
Colors included liquid gold, chartreuse, bisque, sable, blue, slate, hazel, turquoise(a turquoise goddess gown was highly notable). Rich or very vibrant, the colors were beautiful
Patterns were mixed – Gaudi plisse skirt with striped pullover, for eg.
Caplets, boleros, blouson jackets, throw sweaters
Feathered shoe
Coordinating shoes and sandals (color-wise)
Tweed
Ribbon belts
