Michael Godard's sold-out Dirty Martini 2 Even Dirtier

Spirited Art

It’s got to be tongue-in-cheek when visitors to artist Michael Godard (dubbed “The Naughty Artist”) are confronted with the edict: “Do Not Drink and Draw.”

Godard, whose pieces are owned by members of Motley Crue and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has developed a strong following for his spirit (as in alcoholic beverages)-related artwork. The above image has already been sold out, but visit www.michaelgodard.com for his latest. Godard’s appeared on MTV, ABC, NBC, KOCE, KCET, Evening Magazine and the Discovery Channel and has had over a dozen art shows this year and was featured in the New York Times.

He was commissioned by the double-platinum rock band Dishwalla to do the cover art for their third album, “Opaline” and was also the first California artists commissioned to paint a life-size-cow, as part of the New York and ChicagoCows on Parade,” which has appeared on the Today Show and Oprah. He sells more than 4,000 limited edition prints a month and his art can be seen in more than 500 galleries around the world and he currently has multiple signature galleries throughout the United States. A film on Godard’s life, “Behind the Artist,” won the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary at the New York International Independent Film Festival.
