Great White! Shark Week
Discovery Channel's annual summer blockbuster, Shark Week premieres
Shark Week 2005 features a lineup of world premieres that focus not only on the oceans' apex predator, but also spotlight some of the best-known myths about sharks -- many of which were featured in the 1975 motion picture "Jaws."
* Mythbusters: Jaws Special -- July 17 -- The week is kicked off by a two-hour world premiere special with the mad scientists of MythBusters, who scientifically test whether many -- or any -- of the shark myths from "Jaws" are true.
* Sharkbite! Surviving Great Whites -- July 18 -- This world premiere shows how shark attacks can actually shed light on shark behavior.
* American Shark -- July 19 -- This program profiles the millions of sharks -- big and small, harmful and harmless -- that swim along
* Shark Hunter: Chasing The Great White -- July 21 -- Narrated by Roy Scheider, this is the first-ever documentary on the life story of the legendary Captain Frank Mundus, a shark hunter-turned-conservationist who was the real-life inspiration for the character Captain Quint in "Jaws."
