New Luxe

Redesigned and renovated in 2006, the Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard now boasts a sleek and sophisticated California-contemporary look. This unique, in-town boutique resort, is on seven, secluded and landscaped hillside acres. Located at the entrance to the exclusive suburbs of Bel-Air and Brentwood near the famed Getty Center, the Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard is at the gateway to Los Angeles and its surrounding communities.

Each of the Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard’s 161 updated guestrooms and suites has a streamlined residential design. West Hollywood-based interior designer Mary McDonald created the unified motif that continues the elegant California--modern look established by the recently built Luxe Sunset Ballroom. Natural materials, textures and tones are used throughout to reflect the desert hills-meets-beach Southern California landscape.

“I’m thrilled that the Luxe Sunset’s extraordinary new look now equals the sophistication, warmth and professionalism of our service,” says hotelier Efrem Harkham, owner and CEO of Luxe Worldwide Hotels. “We’ve always strived to welcome our guests home, now our brilliant residential décor will strengthen our ability to make it so.”

The newly minted welcoming lobby introduces the Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard’s naturalistic motif and color scheme of chocolate, taupe and cream. Distinctive chrome-finished lamps line the check-in counter; stools are provided for guest comfort at check-in. Smooth, limestone pavers cover the lobby and entryway. The pleasing palette of taupe, cream and chocolate-brown tones continues into the guestrooms, which are furnished with all custom-made lamps and furniture. Each is outfitted with the latest in-room technology such as flat screen TV with on-demand movies and video games, an iPod base station at bedside, computerized minibars and wireless Internet access. Beds are topped with luxurious Italian bed linens in chocolate and white.

Luxe’s Café Bel-Air, the hotel’s popular indoor/outdoor restaurant is also entirely updated. The new look takes advantage of the full-service restaurant’s relaxed private setting that remains a favorite entertainment industry and Brentwood neighborhood lunch spot. Outside there’s sliding canvas coverings for shading; a sculptural water wall fountain sets a soothing mood. Inside, the Café Bel-Air is a calming blend of cool and light creamy whites and mint-green. A cushy banquette lines the wall and custom-made, fabric covered light fixtures add a diffused glow.

Complementing the hotel’s visual make-over, critically acclaimed Luxe Hotels Executive Chef RaShon Smith brings her savory, seasonally fresh, upscale comfort cuisine and remarkable culinary talents to all aspects of the hotel’s dining and catering, including in-room dining, the Café Bel-Air restaurant, Oasis Lounge and Luxe Sunset Ballroom & Luxe Terrace.

Since its opening in 2004, the versatile Luxe Sunset Ballroom has hosted more than 200 events from star-studded entertainment industry fundraisers, lavish weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, to corporate parties and business meetings. An adaptable setting for any occasion, featuring the latest digital audio/visual systems, the ballroom is a blend of elegant modern architecture and classically styled interior details surrounded by a lush, Mediterranean style landscaped terrace.

Completing the hotel’s resort amenities are a discreet, Zen-influenced spa, gym, tennis court and heated swimming pool. The Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard is located at 11461 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90049.
