Freckles are Fancy For Sun Damage: Dr. Simon Ourian of Eipone Medical Center in Beverly Hills has developed Blue Light Therapy, an FDA approved, non-invasive and effective procedure for treating hyper pigmentation, sunspots, broken capillaries and rosacea. The procedure stars with a photosensitive gel applied to the skin. Using a special light, different than a laser treatment, a series of intense light is emitted over the entire face. The light heats up and creates micro pores in the capillaries, causing them to shrink. Any colored material on the surface of the skin, including sunspots and damage, are either absorbed into the skin or evaporated. No recovery, back to work the same day. He recommends three to six sessions, in three to four week intervals. Each session costs between $500 to $1000. More info, visit www.epione.com, or call 800-828-6466.

Soul SirkUS : Soul SirkUS’ website (www.soulsirkus.com) received over 100,000 hits in only two days.
Soul SirkUS is a group of rockers born out of the ashes of Planet US, a band originally featuring guitarist Neal Schon and drummer Deen Castronovo of Journey along with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony of Van Halen. When Hagar and Anthony left the band to return to their roles in Van Halen, Schon and Castronovo joined forces with singer Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman; also provided lead vocals for the feature character in the movie “Rock Star”) and bassist Marco Mendoza (Ted Nugent, Whitesnake) to create Soul SirkUS.
The band’s debut album should be released by early 2005. It was recorded at Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain’s home studio (Wild Horse Studios) in San Francisco, CA in two days. Cain engineered the project and Schon and Soto sat at the producer’s helm.
The website features six 60-90 second sound clips to preview the album.
Schon and Soto met and played together at the Winter NAMM Convention in Los Angeles. Schon then saw Mendoza performing at a showcase that weekend, which sparked an idea to create the band. Once Castronovo and Mendoza were on board, Schon and Soto quickly got to work, collaborating on a number of songs, the results of which will be heard on their debut album.
