Secret Messages, Special Treats for Actress Nominees

Courtesy of Revlon and London’s “it girl” accessory designer Anya Hindmarch, Hilary Swank and Cate Blanchett, as well as their fellow nominees, received Hindmarch’s Bespoke Ebury.

Lined in Revlon red suede, the bags were engraved with personal messages from their male co-star and director.

Drumroll....FASHION:

British-based fashion designer Roland Mouret dressed Scarlett Johansson for the 77th Annual Academy Awards®. Presenter Johansson, who announced the technical awards winners, chose a couture, full-length, matte black-silk taffeta gown. Johansson was dressed by Roland Mouret for the red carpet after the 62nd Annual Golden Globe Awards this January. She also wore a Fred Leighton 19th-century diamond star tiara.

Hilary Swank chose a modest, 40s’-inspired long-sleeved dress by Guy Laroche that featured a bare back. Her makeup was done by Scott Andrew, who told AP he kept her look simple with mauve eye shadow and dark plum eyeliner and lots of mascara.

Showing off her new slim silhouette, Oprah Winfrey wore a gold hand-embroidered off-the- shoulder gown with a tiered skirt by Vera Wang.

Gwyneth Paltrow chose a nude silk and cotton voile corset dress by friend Stella McCartney

Laura Linney went quirky in a taupe strapless gown by J. Mendel with diagonal exposed seams, a frayed edge at the top and tiers of frayed fabric at the hem. She paired the dress with a rope of pearls, holding a disc, knotted at her neck.

House of Flying Daggers actress and Oscar presenter Ziyi Zhang wore a glamorous black Monique Lhuillier gown and Bulgari diamonds.

Penelope CruzOscar de la Renta yellow strapless gown featured an oversized bow at the back hem.

Kate Winslet wore a periwinkle blue gown by Badgley Mischka with a beaded inset down the front of the bodice and Neil Lane diamonds added to the sheer straps.

Clive Owen wore Giorgio Armani, as did Annette Bening. The nominee chose a black jersey, long-sleeve gown with a portrait neckline from Armani’s new couture collection. The fitted bodice led into an hourglass silhouette, ending with a fishtail train.

Nominee Johnny Depp’s Mrs., Vanessa Paradis, wore a Chanel long black tulle dress with silver applique.

Melanie Griffith chose a Versace ombre-celadon pleated silk chiffon gown with embroidery. Her long diamond drop-earrings were by Harry Winston.

Virginia Madsen also chose Versace, a blue strapless corset gown with a black chiffon overlay.

Halle Berry’s Versace was an iridescent taupe silk chiffon one-shoulder gown with embroidered skirt.

Charlize Theron wore a strapless Dior seafoam gown with a skirt made of tiers of tulle.

Actress Isla Fisher chose to wear designer Jenni Kayne to various parties in celebration of The 77th Annual Academy Awards® ceremony. Fisher plans to attend the Vanity Fair party, InStyle’s private viewing event and soiree, and Elton John’s post-show bash, with fiancĂ© Ali G. Fisher is best known for her roles in “Scooby Doo,” “I Heart Huckabees,” and the upcoming film “The Wedding Crashers.” Fisher’s dress by Jenni Kayne is a short white strapless dress with a gracefully sheer midriff, complimenting Ms. Fisher’s peaches-and-cream complexion. The style is from Jenni Kayne’s Spring Summer 2005 collection. Ms. Fisher will accessorize her red-carpet look with shoes and a handbag by Rodo.

Melinda Clarke from “The O.C.” chose a Ghost dress to various Oscar® parties. She’ll attend the In Style party and Elton John’s festivities in a ruffled burgundy dress with subtle sequin flecks. The style was shown only days ago in the Fall/Winter 2005 Ghost runway show at London Fashion Week. It was flown in expressly for Clarke to wear tonight.


Beyonce Knowles
wore H. Stern for her first performance at this evening’s 77th Annual Academy Awards ceremony. She wore a pair of H.Stern earrings from the “Cobblestone” Collection. The earrings are made of rare assorted colored stones in pastel hues set in 18k noble gold, $180,000. For the performance, she wore a pale blue floral chiffon halter dress with Swarovski crystal beading, part of the Elie Saab Couture Spring Summer 2005 collection. Walking on the red carpet, Knowles chose a black silk-velvet Versace. BeyoncĂ© carried a Rodo bag on the red carpet.


For the third year in a row, designer Kevan Hall dressed the trophy presenters at the 77th Annual Academy Awards. The gowns include an elegant ivory silk charmeuse bias cowl neck gown with asymmetrical hemline, a sexy gold silk lurex twist front gown with plunging back and train, and an alabaster silk charmeuse drape shoulder cowl-neck gown.


Fashion designer Nicole Miller dressed Alex Jamieson, fiancĂ©e of Academy Award Nominee Morgan Spurlock of “Super Size Me,” for the 77th Annual Academy Awards®. Jamieson chose an antique gold beaded nude long gown from Nicole Miller’s Signature Collection.

Nokia was at mediaplacement’s Luxury Lounge at Beverly Hills’ Peninsula Hotel for Oscar Week. BeansTalk was covering pre-Oscar events for Reuters.

Nokia presented three of their hottest phones, the 7280, the 7610, and 7270 and gave them to VIPs with three months of free T-Mobile service.

The 7280 offers the most aesthetically interesting and unique profile.

Soare’s Oscar Suite offered Lexus cars and drivers to shuttle actresses like Eva Longoria, the stunningly gorgeous and affable Maria Menounos and Garcelle Beauvais, who were there on Friday. Aside from the VIP treatment of brows (brows with Anastasia are $60 in her Beverly Hills Salon), they served an elaborate array of fresh juices (including apple lemon ginger, and orange coconut) from Beverly Hills Juice, sushi, Godiva Chocolates and they introduced Hpnotiq blue liquor cocktails as well that classic, Dubonnet. There were manicures and products from Jessica nails, hair products from Prive and an all around party vibe.

Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Nocolette Sheridan, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Rodriguez, Joely Fisher all visited the suite. Lexus provided the cars (GX470 and LX470, both luxury SUVs) and drivers.

Drink Details:

Hpnotiq (blend of triple-distilled premium vodka, cognac and tropical fruit juices). The Bartender served up the “Hpnotiq Heaven” (Hpnotiq, champagne and Chambord) and the “Hpnotiq Dream” (Hpnotiq, Champage and Peach Schnapps).

Presley willl appear On "Oprah," "Good Morning America" And "Late Night with David Letterman" prior to the release of her new album, Now What. The album will be released on April 5, 2005.

Lisa Marie Presley'’s "Dirty Laundry," is the first single from her new album, Now What, The song was written by Don Henley and Danny Kortchmar 23 years ago. In the week preceding the album's release, Presley will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" (March 28, 2005), "Good Morning America" (March 29, 2005) and "The Late Show With David Letterman" (April 1, 2005). She'll guest on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on April 5, 2005, the day of release. ABC is currently using Presley's version of "Dirty Laundry" in promos for its show "Desperate Housewives."

Presley penned the lyrics for 10 of the album's 11 songs, working with Linda Perry, Eric Rosse (who produced Now What as well as her debut album), Gus Penaloza and her partner, Michael Lockwood (who also executive produced the album with Presley) on the music. Now What, which was mixed by Tom Lord-Alge and Dave Way, is the follow-up to Presley's 2003 debut, To Whom It May Concern, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 and is currently certified Gold.
