Soap Star Weds

Actress Julia Pace Mitchell, who stars as Sofia Winters on the #1 daytime drama, CBS's "The Young & the Restless," married business executive Stephen L. Hightower II, in a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Shaker Run Golf Club in Lebanon, Ohio on Sunday, September 4, 2011.  There were approximately 150 guests in attendance at the wedding, which was officiated by Dr. Gregory Ballard, Sr.  The bride and groom wrote and exchanged their own vows.  The bride's sister, attorney Shawn Pace Mitchell, served as Maid of Honor, while the groom's brother, business executive Quincy Hightower, served as the Best Man.  The bridal party included five bridesmaids and six groomsmen.

Julia wore a classic, vintage dress for the ceremony and later changed into a dress designed for her by fashion designer Dalia MacPhee for the reception.  The bride's veil was custom designed by her mother, actress Judy Pace Flood ("Brian's Song," "Cotton Comes to Harlem," "Peyton Place").

The groom's father is Stephen L. Hightower, Founder, President and CEO of Hightowers Petroleum Company, based in Franklin, Ohio.  The company is a national wholesale distributor of gasoline and diesel fuel.

Special guests in attendance included Julia's "aunts," veteran actresses Beverly Todd ("The Bucket List," "Crash," "Lean on Me") and Nichelle Nichols ("Star Trek"), Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Carmen Hawkins, and family friend, actress Dawnn Lewis ("A Different World").

"We were planning an outdoor lakeside ceremony, but due to rain, we had to move everything inside.  Other than that, everything went smoothly and the day was absolutely incredible.  I'm so happy, I'm still pinching myself," said the blushing bride, Julia Pace Mitchell.

The event design and logistics for the wedding ceremony and reception were produced by Dayton Event Connection.  The floral design was created by Bruce Levan of Flowerscapes.  The cake was created by Central Pastry Shop of Middletown, Ohio.  The event photography was by Stephanie Matthews Photography of Columbus, Ohio.

The bride, Julia Pace Mitchell, has been a regular cast member on "The Young & the Restless" since July 2010.  She is a graduate of Howard University and The National Theatre Conservatory.  She also studied classical theatre at Oxford University in England.

The groom, Stephen L. Hightower II, is Vice President of Strategic Affairs at Hightowers Petroleum Company, one of the largest minority-owned businesses in America, generating revenues of over $157 million in 2010.  He is a graduate of Ohio State University.
The newlyweds will split their time between residences in Middletown, Ohio and Los Angeles, California.

Katy Perry's New Single

Katy Perry will release a new single, “The One That Got Away,” from her Grammy-nominated No. 1 album Teenage Dream, to radio Wednesday 28 September 2011.

"I'm so pleased to select 'The One That Got Away' as my 6th single because this song shows a very different side of me that I haven't shown with my past singles on this record. I think that everyone can relate to this song. I wrote this song about when you promise someone forever, but you end up not being able to follow through. It's a bittersweet story - hopefully, the listener learns from hearing it and never has to say they had 'The One’ get away” states Katy.

“The One That Got Away” is the sixth single to be released from Teenage Dream. The album’s previous five singles — “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.,” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” — all peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart as well as on the Hot 100 chart. Katy is only the second artist, and the first female, to notch five No. 1’s in the Hot 100’s 53-year history.

A video for “The One That Got Away” will be shot in the coming days. Stay tuned to Katy’s website www.kayperry.com, as well as her social media pages, for more details.

Katy recently wrapped the early fall leg of her sold-out California Dreams World Tour that began earlier this year with stops in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Her remaining U.S. tour dates, with support from Ellie Goulding and DJ Skeet Skeet, are as follows:

Nov 15  Hartford, CT                  XL Center
Nov 16  New York, NY                Madison Square Garden
Nov 19  Las Vegas, NV              Mandalay Bay Events Center
Nov 21  Oakland, CA                  Oracle Arena
Nov 22  Los Angeles, CA           Staples Center

Look for Katy on the cover of InStyle’s October issue.

DPA's Emmy Suite is Sweet

by Amanda Bellafiore
BeansTalk Correspondent

Before their diamonds were strung and their dresses affixed like a glove, Emmy nominees and presenters flocked to a hidden Rodeo Drive rooftop at the Luxe Hotel for an elegant, pre-awards, gifting lounge.

For their seventh year, Nathalie Dubois and DPA were back to the Emmys, offering guests amazing products and fantastic services. Lasting from Sept. 15 – 17, 2011, the gifts landed in the right bags as celebrities took what they could of fashion, electronics and tropical vacations.

Dulcena Lingerie was a favorite for actress Dee Wallace, who picked up a pair of the boutiques panties at a previous Emmy suite two days before. “She pulled her pants down just enough to show me how much she loved them,” said Anel Utajara of Dulcena.

Legendary Beau Bridges

Jason Isaacs, aka 'Lucius Malfoy' of the "Harry Potter" films

Michael K. Williams, who has just joined the cast of NBC's "Community," and also stars in HBO's "Boardwalk Empire"
Other fan favorites were the soy-based candles from Milena’s Boutique, who hoped she brought enough as celebrities tend to come back for thirds; Samsung technology infused air purifier, Virus Zero (see above pics of Beau Bridges, Isaacs and Michael K. Williams with Virus Zero) snagged up and praised by Minnie Driver (‘The Riches’) and Jason Isaacs ("Harry Potter" film series) and the non-leather, Italian crafted handbags and clutches by Jill Milan, carried on this years Emmy red carpet by ‘Glee’ nominee Dot Marie Jones.

While massages were given and cheesecakes were eaten, the three-day event brought awareness to two charities supported by Dubois – Husky Haven of LA, rescue for Siberian huskies and Ring 14 foundation, for children with the rare chromosomal abnormality.

Dubois, a verteran producer of star-studded events worldwide, put on a classy suite with the luxurious views of Beverly Hills serving as the perfect backdrop.

Pink Picks

by Lindsey K. Wagner
BeansTalk N.Y. Correspondent

Breast Cancer is something that has affected many of our friends, moms, sisters and daughters. The Accessories Council and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation hosted a "Pink Picks" social media event this week at the beautifully chic Marchon Eyewear Showroom in NYC.

BeansTalk was lucky enough to spend the evening with other influential social media fashion lovers to learn about this year's hottest products that "have gone" pink for October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Since 1993, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) has raised over $330 million to help in the advance cancer research that will help lead to prevention and a cure. With the help of Accessories Council President, Karen Giberson, the BCRF showcased some great products that give us a reason not only to shop, but to help a worthy cause at the same time.

Below are just a few of our favorites. By purchasing any of these Think Pink products, a proceed will go to help fight breast cancer.

La Mer, which we're told will sell out in a week, will donate $10 for every limited edition lip balm purchased. $45 at lamer.com and select specialty stores including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Celebrity designer, Alex Woo, has created a chic, pink, breast cancer awareness adjustable mini-chord bracelet with a sterling silver breast cancer charm to show her support. Available at alexwoo.com for $80.

Lacoste has created only 500 pairs of these adorable navy and pink sunglasses just for the month of October. Available at Lacoste boutiques, shop.lacoste.com and Marchon Eyewear for $138. They will donate 10% to BCRF.

Bobbi Brown will offer a limited edition lip set featuring a Bellini High Shimmer Lip Gloss and Pink Lip color October-December 31 exclusively at Bobbi Brown counters and bobbibrowncosmetics.com for $44. $10 will be donated from each purchase.

For our tech-lovers out there, chicBuds is donating 20% of purchases from their chicBoom keychain speakers. Only an inch big, this mini-speaker is perfect for someone on the go. $29.99 at chicbuds.com.

Fashion designer, mom of three and all around multi-tasker, Deborah Sawaf of Thale Blanc will be donating $50 from each La Pochette accessory purchased during the month of October. Sawaf flew in from LA just for the Accessories Council Pink Picks event. Available at thaleblanc.com.

Actress Jennifer Aniston and her favorite handbag: the Tom Ford crossbody bag. Here she carries the black version.

And here she carries it in brown.
