Socialite Chooses Ina Soltani
Lady Victoria Hervey (who, in BeansTalk's opinion desperately needs to eat a sandwich) attended the ‘127 Hours’ premiere last night wearing a white leather bustier bodice full skirt dress by LA-based designer Ina Soltani.
The six-foot tall former model's family is not only famous for their ties to the monarchy, but for tragedy and scandals (one brother, a graduate of Yale University suffered from severe depression and hung himself at 36; another was a notorious drug addict who died of AIDS at 44). Many Hervey family members, including Lady Victoria, have had significant financial troubles. In fact, when she was two-years old, her family moved to Monaco where they lived in tax exile. Still, Lady V (as she is known in society circles), was educated in Britain (Benenden School in Kent, Bristol University). She and her friend Jane Blight opened Akademi, a fashion boutique, in April of 2000, which closed mid 2001, amidst debts of 350,000 pounds (about $700k U.S.), but Lady V famously was only out20 pounds ($40 U.S.)
She's had small film roles and lives alternately in Los Angeles and the U.K.
Los Angeles-based designer, Ina Soltani started her own label inspired by the dramatic narratives of her homeland (Sarajevo, Bosnia) and its artisans' traditions. Soltani has since gained popularity among Hollywood's A-Listers such as; Eva Longoria Parker, Katy Perry, Ashlee Simpson, Marisa Tomei, and Carrie Underwood.
