Hair Rescue (I Know I Need It, What About You?)

Hair Therapy: Ionic Rescue. The cationic Ionic Rescue products work with heat to counteract the positive charge of damaged hair, creating a balance that helps seal the cuticle.

"The greater the heat, the greater the boost hair receives," says I.S.H. founder Nelson Chan, who works with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Heather Graham and works out of the Estetica salon in Beverly Hills.

"I.S.H. is the first hair care company to adopt and apply this principle by offering a home system that conditions in various degrees according to the amount of heat applied. With increased heat, the conditioning elements can further penetrate the hair shaft to render benefits such as moisture, shine and silkiness, while combatting dryness and brittleness."

The active ingredient in the four Rescue home hair care products is H.R.C. - Hair Renewal Crystals. H.R.C. is a conditioning element containing jojoba extract. When deposited on the hair, the crystals dissolve and later become activated by heat from a dryer or flat iron.

I.S.H., which stands for Incredibly Silky Hair, already offers an in-salon Ionic Conditioning Treatment at more than 1,000 salons in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

"But if going to the salon is too costly or if time is an issue, then getting an adequate deep conditioning on a regular basis at home becomes extremely important," says Chan.

The Ionic Rescue Treatment line includes:

Ionic Rescue Shampoo (8 oz, $18) - containing H.R.C., wheat amino acid, aloe vera oil, and fine silicone.
Ionic Rescue Conditioner (8 oz, $23) - containing H.R.C., silk amino acids and protein, algae extract, rosemary extract, witch hazel extract, hydrolyzed keratin and wheat germ oil.
Ionic Rescue Conditioning Sealer (8 oz, $24) - contains H.R.C., silk amino acids and protein, algae extract, rosemary extract, witch hazel extract, hydrolyzed keratin and wheat germ oil.
Ionic Rescue One-Minute Treatment (6 oz, $25) - contains the highest concentration of H.R.C. Also contains silk amino acids and protein, algae extract, rosemary extract, witch hazel extract, hydrolyzed keratin and wheat germ oil.

Chan and 1,000 salons across the country also do an in-salon treatment, I.S.H. Ionic Conditioning Treatment, a three-part process that relies on heat to activate the moisturizing ingredient. The most concentrated formula available, it also lasts the longest, one month.

The line contains no artificial fragrances. For more information, visit ISHprofessional.com or to find a salon near you that does the treatment: (800) 429-0989.
