Who’s Wearing What: At the “Collateral” premiere in Los Angeles (held at the Magic Johnson theater) Tamara Tunie wore an Antonio Gual floral tangerine-colored chiffon frock. Foxy Brown (if you can get past the cleavage in that skin-tight black leather vest) opted for colorfully aqua Christian Louboutin pumps with her Plein Sud outfit. Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith donned Fred Leighton jewelry with her Giorgio Armani gown. She also wore a pair of strappy silver Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. Mo'Nique wore a strapless 50s-inspired dress, white cotton with colorful floral accents by Maria Rinaldi.

Sofia Milos of CSI: Miami chose diamond Chopard jewelry for the red carpet premiere of Princess Diaries 2. Milos showed off her golden tan in a champagne satin halter dress with a crystal chain strap by Sunny Choi.

Fashionistas: Karen Robinovitz and Melissa De La Cruz the New York authors who co wrote the book "How to Become Famous in Two Weeks or Less" are launching theirsecond book "Fashionista Files: Adventures in Four Inch Heels and Faux Pas."

The book is coming out in September, right in time for fashion week, as well as a glamorous release party at Suba on September 14th which is being hosted by Robert Verdi and Metro Channel. Top editors, fashionistas and socialites will be attending this soiree.

There is also a major event being hosted at Henri Bendel's for their fall fashion kick off, which they have every year during fashion week to celebrate fall. The theme of the two-week event is based on the "Fashionista Files", which will be on display throughout the store. And there will be two events for their book as well in the store - September 9, 2004 to kick off a silent auction and September 14, 2004, to close. The proceeds will benefit Safe Horizon, which helps abused women. Confirmed book signings will also be taking place in NYC, LA, Miami, Boston and Dallas.

Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, the show includes an opening monologue, a one-on-one interview and roundtable discussions, followed by Maher's weekly editorial. Featured on this week's show as roundtable guests are former congressman Bob Barr, comedian Steve Harvey and journalist Cokie Roberts.

Slated for 23 editions this season, REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER went on hiatus in March after 10 editions. The series returned for the remaining 13 shows in July, in time for the Democratic and Republican conventions, with coverage of the presidential campaign to continue through the election in early November. Among the guests slated for upcoming shows are George Carlin, Michael Eric Dyson, Michelle Malkin, Graham Norton, Andrew Sullivan, Cornel West and James Woolsey. Other guests will be announced as they are confirmed.

BeansTalk Observation: Nicole Richie, young as she is, is looking quite “refreshed.” So much so, she (like Naomi Watts and HER best friend Nicole Kidman) seems to be morphing into Paris Hilton. Check her out at the latest events and tell us if we’re wrong.

Silver Fox: Debi Mazar wore a Salvatore Ferragamo outfit to the Los Angeles premiere of “Collateral.” She was awash in silver grey tones, with a silk ruffled blouse, gray skirt and a beautiful silver tweed coat. She accessorized with a brooch on the lapel, a dark gray suede clutch and silver gray shoes.

Hot Fall Item: The brooch (as demonstrated by fashionista Debi Mazar, see item above) is going to be the hot accessory this fall. It’s a good time to check out sale and clearance bins at the department stores and for vintage and more unique pins, try thrift stores.

Emmy Nodded Film Re-Airs: HBO Films' “Something the Lord Made” received nine Emmy nominations. You can catch up on this film Sunday, August 15, 2004 at 6 p.m. on HBO, of course.

Debuting on HBO last May, SOMETHING THE LORD MADE is based on the extraordinary true story of unlikely partners -- a black lab technician (played by Mos Def) and a white surgeon (played by Alan Rickman) -- who pioneered cardiac surgery in 1940s America, defying the rules to launch a medical revolution against the backdrop of the Jim Crow south.

Among the Emmy(r) nominations received by SOMETHING THE LORD MADE were Outstanding Made for Television Movie, two for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie (Mos Def, Alan Rickman), Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Joseph Sargent), and Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Robert Caswell and Peter Silverman).

Diana Krall Update: Grammy® award winning musician Diana Krall nearly nightly performs material from her acclaimed album ‘The Girl in the Other Room,’ released April 27, 2004, on Verve, and certified RIAA gold. Halfway through her 34-date US tour, critics sing her praises. “A perfect evening,” says the Seattle Times. “Krall’s voice... flawlessly bridged the swing and rock eras, flowing easily from husky whisper to guttural coo, impassioned croon to artlessly artful song/speech.” With the support of her band, comprised of Anthony Wilson (guitar), Robert Hurst (bass) and Peter Erskine (drums), Krall "simply sparkled all evening," the Los Angeles Daily News wrote.

The Hollywood Reporter says she “gave [‘Almost Blue’] an intro worthy of Rachmaninoff, sang the words by bringing them up from somewhere inside herself that one had not been aware existed, fondled them with keyboard fingerings worthy of her mentor, the great Jimmy Rowles...That voice of hers has developed into a thing of wonder and power.”

Krall's album 'The Girl in the Other Room' has gone gold in seven countries and double platinum in Krall’s native Canada. The second leg of Krall’s summer tour picks up at the Milwaukee Theatre on August 10, 2004 and wraps at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on August 24, 2004.

Seeing Green: Jeweler Simon G is jumping on the colored diamond bandwagon – green, he says is the “must have” color in fashion accessories. He offer a green hued collection from cocktail to cluster rings to stacked bands in lime to sage, emerald to olive in shades. More info, call (213) 622-2660 or visit www.simongjewelry.com.

The Shadow Knows: Stila now has shadow pots, which retail for $20. The shadow is light and shimmery (powder with the ease of cream) and stila’s Jeannine Lobell says, “As soon as you put it on, you get WOW…with a shimmery glow.” Colors include mist, pearl, moon, iris, lime, honey, smoke, flame, amber, taupe, lily, sky, petal. Call (877) 565-1299 or visit www.stilacosmetics.com.

Berry Good: Dr. Howard Murad’s discovered a way to draw on the benefits of the Goji Berry in his new Redness Therapy Line, designed to Reduce Rosacea-like redness. It has 500 times the vitamin c of oranges and more beta carotene than carrots. A Man named Li Quin Uyen supposedly lived from 1678 to 1930 – that’s 252 years -- he apparently consumed the berries daily. The Goji Berry, used in traditional Mogolian and Tibetan medicine for centuries is used in Murad’s products as an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory agent and hydrator. More info, (800) 33 MURAD or www.murad.com.

In other Murad news, he appeared on ABC’s “The View discussing the issue of blemishes in teens. He designed a program for a group of teens that included his Clarifying Cleanser, Moisturizing Acne Treatment Gel, Clarifying Mask, Pure Skin Clarifying Supplement, West Suit Cell Hydrating Supplement, and Skin Perfecting Lotion.

Still more Murad…Murad products were featured prominently when “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” made over their first Gay guy, in June. Queer Eye’s Kyan Douglas suggested Wayne (the makeover) use Murad Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 15, Murad Claifying Mask, and Murad Pure Skin Clarifying Supplement.

Back Pain?: Join the club – some 80% or 65 million Americans suffer from it. LPG, the world leader in connective tissue treatments, have developed the Spine Force system, which is a new way for therapists to work with patients. Developed for more than six years in France, they consulted with kinesiotherapists, osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors, biomechanics and physical trainers. The customized technology works up to 180 muscles at a time and targets the Intrinsic Stabilizer Muscles , responsible for overall spinal health and often difficult to reach for doctors and therapists. Users noted an improvement in range of motion, balance, strength, posture, cessation of pain.

Sponge It Up: This sounds fun: Spongeables, a soap-infused sponge with bright colors and fragrances (like Citrus Basil, Lemon Berry and Sun-Kissed Fig) and an exfoliating texture. The sponge holds an olive oil-and glycerine based soap. Each lasts for 30 showers.

Brush-On Sun Protection: Sunforgettable is Colorscience’s nanotechnology, SPF 30, brush-on powder sun protection and relies on micornized titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. One application lasts all day. Sunforgettable is already a favorite of Brittany Murphy, Natasha Richardson and Daryl Hannah. Retails for $45. For nearest retailer, go to www.colorscience.com or call (866) COLORE.

Predicting Hair Trends: One of the best hairstylists around, Stuart Gavert (he does the locks of Christina Applegate and Lisa Kudrow), and his equally cool partner, Cody Kusakabe (Brooke Shields and Keanu Reeves) offer up what they think will be the hottest look for fall and winter. Kusakabe says that the “sexy and disheveled” will be sexy, but less disheveled. Achieve waves by setting hair in pin curls or using a wide-barreled curling iron. Take hair down, tousle and tease a bit at rooms. Bangs will no longer be long and heavy, but wispy and side-swept, sexy and playful. No more slick up-dos, either. It’s about the “un-do” as hair accessories accent tousled, voluminous hair. Gavert’s color report suggests summer blondes turn into winter blondette by adding muted gold or smoky champagne highlights. Brunettes should add soft, muted reds. Chunky, disconnected highlights flatter the hot voluminous hair look. Less color in the bangs and more color throughout the back complements randomly placed highlights. Gavert Atilier is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visit www.beautyexotica.com or call (310) 858-7898.

Functional Art: Umbra’s Ensalada Bowl was awarded IDEA’s Gold Award in the category of consumer products by a jurly of 17 non-affiliated designers juding more than 1500 submissions from more than 25 countries. Ensalada was designed by Scott Henderson of Mint Inc. in NY.

Speaking of Umbra, they have these great Phatboy Pens featured in their Fall 2004 catalogue that come in blue, green, orange and pink and come in a case. Very cool.

Poco Drummer Collapses: Poco Drummer George Grantham Has Heart Attack Onstage One Song Into Spingfield, Mass. Set, Founding Country Rocker Collapses Springfield, Massachusetts: One song into their Springfield Summer Concerts Series performance, Poco drummer George Grantham collapses and was rushed to Bay State Hospital. While the founding member underwent surgery to relieve pressure, the rest of the band -- who would have been unable to have access to the rock solid drummer -- continued the show acoustically.

At this time, Grantham is in stable condition and on a ventilator as a precautionary measure.

Poco was one of the defining band's of the Southern California country-rock movement that also included the Eagles, Buffalo Springfield, Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne. Having sold millions of albums, including Legend and In The Heat of the Night, the lush harmony-driven group has just finished taping a reunion concert at Nashville's Belcourt Theatre for an upcoming DVD release.

At this time, Grantham -- who's also recorded and/or toured with Neil Young, Steve Wariner and Ricky Skaggs -- has a solid prognosis. Updates on his condition can be found on the band's website: www.poconut.com

Who’s Wearing What: Sharon Stone made a splash at the London premiere of Catwoman in a dress and fur stole from Elsie Katz Couture. She wore a vintage teal chiffon flapper dress with intricate white and silver beading from the Elsie Katz Couture vintage collection. She topped off her one-of-a-kind dress with a white fox fur stole, made especially for her, with white velvet lining, white satin ribbon tie and two vintage French paper rinuncula flowers.

Elsie Katz Couture, designed by Donna Baxter, features vintage-inspired feminine and whimsical designs made out of luxurious fabrics in bold colors. Baxter named the collection after her grandmother, Elsie Katz, who believed in pink marabou boas and sparkly tiaras for everyday. Elsie Katz Couture is one of Sharon’s favorite designers. She has worn Baxter’s designs on several occasions including the recent MTV Movie Awards, the First Annual Style Awards and at yesterday’s Catwoman press conference. Sharon’s not the only celebrity fan – other well-known Elsie Katz Couture fans include Famke Janssen and Paris Hilton.

ISSAK TOUR: Capitol Recording Artist Aslyn Opens For Chris Isaak This Summer. Lemon Love, Aslyn's Debut Album, Scheduled For Release In January 2005

Capitol recording artist Aslyn has been invited to open for Chris Isaak on the West Coast leg of his summer tour. Lemon Love, the Atlanta, Georgia-based singer-songwriter's debut album, will be released on January 25, 2005. It was produced by Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, Jewel) And Eric Valentine (SmashMouth, Third Eye Blind, Queens of the Stone Age).

Raised outside Gainesville, Florida, Aslyn began studying classical piano when she was seven. Throughout her school years, she played anywhere she could - in talent contests, at weddings, at church. After graduation, Aslyn was faced with the decision that would eventually bring her to a new

Phase in her musical journey. She could use her savings to buy a cheap car, or leave home in pursuit of something more. Aslyn left for Atlanta, where she gigged around town and crashed on friends' couches. (Eventually she did acquire a clunker of a car, which became an unusual metaphor for her love life, inspiring the album's title track, "Lemon Love.")

Capitol offered her a deal on the spot and, sensing it was a good match, she canceled all her other appointments and signed on. Soon after, she began recording with Guy Chambers. "I brought up Guy's name because I was moved by the work he had done with Robbie Williams," she says.

"He has a strong song-oriented perspective with an English twist." She recorded eight tracks with Chambers and the remaining four with renowned LA-based producer, Eric Valentine.

Life Laundry: Are you drowning under a sea of clutter from a lifetime of hording family memorabilia? Struggling to maintain order in a chaotic family house? Then BBC AMERICA can help with an all-new season of the life-changing program that shows just how liberating it can be to let go of the physical and emotional clutter in your homes. The Life Laundry premieres Saturdays from September 4, 2004 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.

A lesson in 'interior dieting,' The Life Laundry is more than just a makeover show; the program frees its subjects from the psychological baggage associated with clinging on to decades of junk. Working not only to clear the clutter from someone's home, it also unearths the emotional and psychological issues that lie at the heart of hording clutter.

Each episode sees the entire contents of someone's home emptied out onto their front lawn and divided into three piles: one will end up destroyed, one will be sold in a yard sale, and the remainder will be allowed back into the de-cluttered home the contributors have been dreaming of. With specialist advice from storage expert Dawna Walter and antiques dealer Mark Franks, The Life Laundry attempts to transform people's lives by getting them to ditch their junk and reveal the treasure that lies beneath.

As every item from the house is removed, the tension begins to mount. What will stay and what will go? Emotional ties are the most difficult to break: the prized possessions left by the loss of a loved one, those birthday cards received over the last 30 years, the Levi jeans that will never fit, the heavy-metal LPs that are never played. A trip down memory lane is one thing, but what do these ties to the past really say about a person?

With the help of Dawna, the dream of streamlined living is accomplished by a complete overhaul of the interior design of the house, based around a strict selection of possessions. While Mark is at hand to make sure that any family heirlooms don't accidentally end up in the 'destroy' pile and to spot any potential 'collectibles'. <>

Who will be persuaded to get rid of the most junk? Who will be able to part with that worthless memorabilia they had been clinging onto for so many years? The success of the re-design of the house depends on how far the contributors face up to the emotional ties that link them to their clutter. If they follow the rules, they could find themselves with a living space that will really improve their lives.

<>This season, the team bring order to a central London home squeezed by an owners hording of memorabilia from a career in broadcasting. Help is also at hand for one young woman too guilty to rid an inherited home of her godmother's possessions. And order is imposed on the home of a former BBC DJ, who is drowning under decades worth of music paraphernalia, board games and comics of every description. <> <>

New Location, Location, Location:
An all-new season of Location, Location, Location premieres - BBC AMERICA has set the pace with ground-breaking lifestyle shows that have blazed a trail with inspirational ideas for home, garden and wardrobe makeover.

<>Now, the network is on a mission to equip homeowners with top-tips and must-know guidelines as they navigate the pitfalls of the real estate market in search of the perfect home. An all-new season of Location, Location, Location premieres Saturdays from September 4, 2004 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

<>Each week Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer, take up the challenge to help homebuyers find the best home for the best price in just four days. Armed with a budget and their expert knowledge of the market, our property professionals get to know the lifestyles, likes and dislikes of a new couple in a new location. <>The dynamic property duo know where to look, how to spot structural problems and how much money to offer to secure the deal. From scouring the market for the perfect house to making the final offer, Kirstie and Phil are on a crusade to help homebuyers find the best buy for their buck. <>

As professional real estate agents, Kirstie and Phil have expert knowledge to impart to help home owners understand an industry which they often feel is weighted against them. As Phil says: "I realized that there was a real bias in the property system - it was fixed to help the seller, not the buyer. You can find wonderful places or very average places at every level of the price bracket."
