Actor Patton Oswalt accepts the Vanguard Award for Creative Ensemble, for Young Adult, with Director Jason Reitman, Charlize Theron and writer Diablo Cody at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Oswalt said, "a major studio put out a movie that was — it wasn't even that the movie was so dark, it was that it was not trying to get the audience to love it. And because of that it becomes more fascinating. For a studio to get behind that, especially these days, it's kind of miraculous." Cody wore a dress by designer David Meister.
