Two More To Go: Of course, we waited until the four final forever episodes of "Angel" to start watching again -- and we're just getting caught up and drawn in, and the show's history. Sigh. Amy Acker ("Fred" and the alien version of "Fred") was at the Saturn Awards last night, looking pretty and fresh. "Angel" creator Joss Whedon was there too.

Pre-Prison Partier: Martha Stewart -- albeit looking dour -- is getting her socialization in. She was out last night at the Waldorf Astoria at The American Society of Magazine Editors' 39th annual National Magazine Awards. There is, afterall, a magazine named for her.

She's So Irresistible: No one cares where she's actually ranked, because she's friggin' gor-jus -- super promoter Anna Kornikova is the spokesperson for the "Most Irresistible Face" contest, sponsored by Gilette.

Beckinsale's Back: "Van Helsing" (we're hoping it's not as bad as critics say) star Kate Beckinsale is busily promoting the film, showing up in back-bearing designer duds (in purply hot pink and black, respectively) at the Carson Daly and David Letterman shows. The black jumpsuit was cut in front down to there, but Kate's just the gal to wear it -- it suits her.

Spring Fling: At the New York City Ballet 2004 Spring Gala - Balanchine's 100 in New York last night, Sarah Jessica Parker and Barbara Walters opted out of Cinco de Mayo festivities and into the more American classic, ballet. Parker wore a vibrant green dress with two layers of ruffles at the hip and Walters added panache to her black dress with a hot pink silk shawl -- Lily Pulitzer's favorite spring colors. BTW, Parker had her hair up in a very flattering Holly Go-Lightly bun, replete with sparkly barrette. Petra Nemcova wore a similar hairstyle, also yesterday, at the 3rd Annual Tribeca Film Festival - "Point & Shoot" Premiere at Pace in NYC.

Film Fans: The Tribeca Film Festival is in full swing and Meg and former hubby Jack White were among the indie crowd at "Coffee and Cigarettes" last night. Also attending: Steve Buscemi, Matt Dillon, Eddie Izzard, Eva Mendes, and Steve Van Zandt. Both Mendes and Meg White chose ivory silk which offered a pretty contrast to both White's pale complextion and Mendes' dark one.

Get Exposed: Northern Exposure, CBS' once quirky and charming series, is available on DVD (just the first season): This 7-time Emmy award-winning series is a remarkable blend of quirky humor and heartwarming storytelling. With an ensemble cast including Rob Morrow (Quiz Show), John Corbett (Sex and the City), and Janine Turner (Cliffhanger), Season 1 of Northern Exposure takes you back to where it all began. Fresh out of New York's Columbia University, cocky young Dr. Joel Fleischman (Morrow) is looking forward to his comfortable position in Alaska's largest city. Upon his arrival, Joel finds himself a fish-out-of-water as he's instead assigned to a tiny Alaskan village where the offbeat locals would love him to stay forever. Bonus Material: Deleted scenes; Never-before-seen footage and outtakes; Footage from the “Soapy Sanderson” episode; “Sex, Lies and Ed’s Tapes” Extended Footage. It retails for $59.99. The first season will leave you with the lingering question: Will Joel and Maggie get together?

Hi-Lo: Connie Nielsen, juror at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, stepped out at the Vanity Fair Party in a dress by Monique Lhuillier, a black and pink strapless lace dress with a dramatic hi-low hemline and flirty pink satin ribbon belt.

Knit-Pick: We love our Edith Eig, but for those knit-aholics, there's a new DVD: The Art of Knitting DVD – www.theartofknitting.com. Stars Jennifer Wenger, owner of Jennifer Knits. In its first week it sold 145,000 copies and will debut at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart this Friday. This is Krall's best ever sales week and marks her highest debut on theBillboard 200 chart. She'll launch a 34-date U.S. tour on June 19th at Philadelphia's Mann Music Center. No word yet if her main main will be joining her.

Cashing In: Roseanne Cash has added new tour dates and location that take her into January 2005. Her latest album (her first since 1996), was nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album and Cash placed #22 on CMT's list of Top 100 Female Country Artists of All Time.

Double Dressed: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (God, we're writing a lot about them) posed for not one, not two, but three photo opportunities in one day (that would be yesterday, May 4th) -- in completely different outfits, no less -- for their appearance on the David Letterman show and then a later appearance for their NYC film premiere. They're both looking pretty, if too thin and a tiny dour or low, although we can't imagine why they wouldn't be on top of the world.

Blu in Blue: Singer Blu Cantrell went all out fashion-wise for her birthday party at the Skybar last night. Not only did she don a blue pageant gown, but she also sported a tiara.

Enthusiasm Still Not Curbed: The pretty black and blue floral halter sundress on Cheryl Hines we raved about? Just found out it was by noneother than Nicole Miller, from her Spring 2004 collection.

More designer info: That stunning Sharon Stone dress, as well as the halter worn by Oscar de la Renta's daughter? Both by the latter's dad, Mr. de la Renta. Shaved headed Jai Rodriguez wore a Jil Sander suit and a Cartier pendant/necklace

Illuminate Yourself: There are enough home improvement/design shows on television to create not one, not two, not three, but four channels -- each primarly fixated on creating a more ideal living space. Our friends at Mirror Mirror PR are promoting www.welldressedhome.com which offers some very unique -- and conversation worthy light fixtures.

Back Biz: It could be the warm weather, or the winds of fashion -- but many starlets are choosing 50s-style halter-topped dresses.

Just last night, for example, new-mom Cheryl Hines -- back in complete pre-baby figure -- chose a beautiful black-and-white ensemble for the Van Helsing premiere in Los Angeles. Cynthia Nixon (posing for photogs in her trademark slant) chose a classically black halter dress for the Second Stages 25th Anniversary Gala -- but her dress offered up a little surprise -- see-through fabric in the thigh area.

At the event with Nixon, Patricia Kalamber chose a slinky Pepto-pink trimmed with small black ruffles. Oscar de la Renta's daughter chose fire-engine red for the 26th Annual AAfA American Image Awards to Benefit amfAR (held at NYC's Grand Hyatt); Catherine Maladrino chose seafoam green for the same event, and Sarah Hughes (also at Amfar) chose a tie-dyed light blue bit of halter froth.

Signaling Spring: Pastel tanks were the cool-option of choice for "Van Helsing" premiere attendee Amy Yasbeck (who paired her pale pink tank with a lavendar silk skirt), and "Second Stages 25th Anniversary Gala" guest Polly Draper (her lavendar tank was worn over aubergine silk satin pants).

Last Night's Most Beautiful: A tie between two who attended the same event, a very REFRESHED looking Sharon Stone, in a gorgeous red-and-gold ballgown and "Queer Eye's" ubiquitous Carson Kressley (who sported quaint little round tortoise-shell specs). BTW, at that same event, Carson's co-star Jai Rodriquez has shaved his hair for his "summer cut," which is exactly what Monty Province needs right now.

Not the Gym Teacher Kind: Coach bags, whether on Ebay on the red carpet, are hot. Kate Beckinsale will carry a bag from the Spring/Summer collection to the Los Angeles premiere of "Van Helsing" tonight. Last night at the 2004 Movieline Young Hollywood Awards, "Best Breakthrough Performance" winner Ginnifer Goodwin carried a silver Soho Dusted Suede Clutch. Supermodel-turned-actress Molly Sims opted for a black straw top handle for her appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival¹s premiere of "Raising Helen."

Bustin' Out: "One Tree Hill's" Bethany Joy Lenz wore a Nicole Miller white linen bustier top over a blue-jean skirt to the the 2004 Movieline Young Hollywood Awards over the weekend.

Phish-Aw: Elektra/Atlantic recording group Phish -- who have always had a tremendous fan following -- announced details of their new album "UNDERMIND." The Burlington, Vermont-based band's 11th studio album - and first since 2002's acclaimed "ROUND ROOM" - will arrive in stores nationwide on June 15th. The album's first single, "The Connection," is set to impact at radio outlets nationwide on May 24th.

Jet-Setter Jessica: Jessica Simpson -- as fans of "Newlyweds" know -- loves her designer duds. This weekend she was promoting Philippine-American designer Monique Lhuillier. At the Kentucky Derby's Barnstable Brown party, Simpson wore a black Alencon lace bodice dress with ballerina-inspired tulle skirt from Lhuillier's Spring 2004 collection. Simpson and hubby then flew to Atlanta for the Music Midtown 2004 Festival where she performed in a floral metallic taffeta trench coat, also from the Spring 2004 collection.

Secret Spaces: On Saturday, June 12 at 10:00PM TLC presents TRADING SPACES: UNGLUED, a one-hour special of bloopers, outtakes, and never-before-seen moments from the much-copied home makeover series.

Heartwarming: If you can stand Alan Rickman's southern accent (just think 1998's horrific "Judas Kiss," in which his favorite co-star Emma Thompson -- also a brilliant Brit -- demonstrates Southern accents are not the Brits best), you might want to catch HBO's new SOMETHING THE LORD MADE, the story of two men - a white and a black carpenter turned lab technician - who, during the racial strictures of the Jim Crow south, pioneered the field of heart surgery. The film dramatizes the groundbreaking accomplishment of Dr. Alfred Blalock and Vivien Thomas at Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1944. Starring Alan Rickman, Mos Def, Kyra Sedgwick, Gabrielle Union, Charles S. Dutton and Mary Stuart Masterson. The film debuts SUNDAY, MAY 30 at 9:00 p.m.

Notes from Suburbia:

Brooke Shields couldn't have waved her baby Rowan Francis in the camera more at this weekend's 11th Annual Kids for Kids Celebrity Carnival to Benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in New York. The baby's a dead-ringer for husband, producer Chris Henchy.

Looking like glammed-up Skipper dolls, Mary-Kate and Ashley (see, we're not calling them the Olsen twins) pouted and posed for way too many pictures for the "green-carpet" premiere of their much-hyped film "New York Minute."

T-Shirts -- both long-sleeved and short, as well as tanks -- are most popular these days with something to say on them. The aforementioned Shields, for example, worn the over-exposed Teenage Millionaire shirt "Jesus is My Homeboy." At that same event, Molly Sims chose a long-sleeved red shirt with simply the words "Couture" across her dress (in case you were wondering what kind of fashion she is).

Clutch purses are still super hot. Maria Menunous carried a fancy one to the 2004 Movieline Young Hollywood Awards, Samaire Armstrong a whimsical one to the same event (and while we predict many will pick on Samaire's bold choice of dress -- best described as kimono oh-no -- we give her snaps for courage), as did Hilary Duff and Zoe Saldana. Liz Phair, who apparently was separated at birth with Alicia Silverstone, also chose a clutch (she took hers to the "Raising Helen" premiere). Both Olsen sisters (see? we didn't refer to them as twins, although it was tempting) chose elegant little clutches to bring to their film premiere.

Recently divorced Teri Hatcher looked particularly dominatrix diva-style at the 36th Annual Academy of Magical Arts Show and Banquet Saturday night.

Jessica Alba, who has convincingly played a South Seas maiden (if you haven't seen "Sleeping Dictionary," she's actually very good in it, as is co-star, hunky Hugh Dancy), has dyed her dark brown tresses blonde. We're not convinced it's the best look for her, but summer is fast approaching (and if you're in L.A. right now, it feels like it's here already).

We know how super hot it was in L.A. this weekend, so what possessed Euro-star Asia Argento to wear a fitted long sleeved black blazer, matching skirt and fishnets to the Movieline Awards? We were sweaty just looking at her.

Nicky Hilton chose to wear the everyone-in-Hollywood-has-them satin Gucci shoe/sandal to the "New York Minute" L.A. premiere. The distinctive shoes have already been worn out and about by Sarah Jessica Parker, among others. We believe the price on them was in the $700 range. Just your average casual matinee gear -- if you're a Hilton.
