Daughtry Goes Home

The American Idol phenomenon continued as the Top 4 finalists each performed two songs originally recorded by Elvis Presley. Last night, on a dramatic results show, it was revealed that Chris Daughtry received the fewest votes after Tuesday’s performance show, ending his quest to become the next American Idol. Daughtry, from McLeansville, NC, sang “Suspicious Minds” and “A Little Less Conversation.”

Next week, the excitement builds when the Final Three – Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee and Elliott Yamin – compete head to head on the live American Idol performance show Tuesday, May 16 (8:00-9:00 PM live ET/tape-delayed PT). Each contestant will sing three songs – one selected by famed producer Clive Davis, one by the IDOL judges and one of his or her own choosing – on the season’s penultimate performance show.

Tune in the following night to find out who will be in the season-finale showdown and who will go home on a special one-hour American Idol results show Wednesday, May 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
