Butthead and Beavis: They're baaaaaccck.

Beavis and Butthead Are Back

That’s right, those two pop-culture icons are back and they’re shamelessly plugging their DVD, Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection, Volume One, set for release on November 8th. The return of everybody’s favorite duo will be a multi-platform event with programming on MTV, MTV2, MTV.com, and MTV Overdrive. In addition, for the first time ever, using voice-activated phone technology, fans will get a chance to talk to Beavis and Butt-Head.

Hosted by Billy Dee Williams, Beavis and Butt-Head’s Decade of Power is a mock infomercial. Williams, a self-professed fan of the series, chats with the animated Beavis and Butt-Head as they use their inimitable charisma to sell their DVD. The 30-minute special will go into detail on all of the DVD extras and will feature testimonials. Beavis and Butt-Head’s Decade of Power will premiere on MTV2 on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 4 p.m. (ET/PT) and on MTV on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

On Friday, November 4, 2005 classic episodes from the series will run on MTV2 from 4:30 p.m. -7 p.m. (ET/PT), immediately followed by an encore presentation of the boys’ feature film Beavis and Butt-Head: Do America at 7 p.m. (ET/PT). In addition, more episodes will run on MTV2 from 9:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Do America will also air on MTV on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

MTV is also launching a more interactive experience for today’s Beavis and Butt-Head fan through new technology that allows callers to actually chat with the boys. The Beavis and Butt-Head Hotline, featuring -- for the first time ever -- interactive voice technology developed by Speak To The Stars, Inc., a company which creates interactive celebrity telephone content. This hotline will enable callers, for a fee, to dial a special number and talk directly to Beavis & Butt-Head. You can ask them questions, get advice, listen to them rant and laugh your head off as they “talk back to you.” An introductory three minute session costs $1.99 and phone time comes in 3, 7, and 15 minute increments. MTV will be offering 250,000 free 2-minute calls. All that Beavis and Butt-Head fans have to do is dial the hotline to receive their free 2-minute call. Callers must be 14 years of age and older to make the interactive telephone call. Find out more about it by calling 877-Chat2BH or by visiting beavisandbutthead.mtv.com.

MTV.com and MTV Overdrive, the network’s broadband channel, will launch a Beavis and Butt-Head super-site. Overdrive will have “VIP-Hole” - exclusive access to a preview of the DVD Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection, Volume One, as well as access to more cartoons, their VMA appearances, and an exclusive Mike Judge interview. This feature will first be available to those who pre-order the DVD. MTV.com will also have a huge library of original artwork highlighting viewers’ favorite moments from the series. Plus, look for more great content on MTV.com & Overdrive in the weeks to come, including additional videos and games. Check it out at beavisandbutthead.mtv.com.

Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection, Volume One, is the first in a Beavis and Butt-Head trilogy -- unleashing the mega-stars of TV, radio and the silver screen for an entirely new generation, as well as those who came of age with the heavy-metal poster children. Creator Mike Judge (TV’s King of the Hill, Office Space) has taken great care in hand-picking his personal favorites from the series’ memorable five year run (1993-1997) -- and is even opening up the vaults to release episodes that have never before been available on any video format.

The three-disc set features 40 episodes and includes many never-before-released on DVD, special director’s cut episodes, an exclusive featurette, and those ever-popular music videos with classic Beavis and Butt-Head commentary.

Originally airing on MTV, the series follows the adventures of Beavis, a blond guy in a Metallica shirt, and Butt-Head, a dark-haired guy in an AC/DC t-shirt. Each day they can be found amusing themselves with activities such as getting sent to the principal’s office, getting rabies, washing the dog, learning to drive and getting ripped off at a charity walk. One of the pair's all-time favorite pastimes is scanning TV channels and commenting on "really cool" programs and music videos. Beavis and Butt-Head think alike, laugh alike, and bang their heads in unison while playing air guitar.

Btw, if you have On Demand, MTV features episodes of the original series.
