BeansTalk's Hot Hollywood Treatment(s)

The divine, albeit now defunct Tony & Tina divine lip shine.

This week’s Hot Hollywood Treatment offers up editorial on several products we actually use.

Yes, we get lots of products. Yes, we try most of them out. But there are a select few we stick with and use daily. And yes, we actually buy them. We’ll roll out our favorites eventually, but here’s what we’re starting out with this weekend.

LIPSTICK: Jane Cosmetics Lipkick Rich Color Lipstick in Satin Ribbon and Romantic Rose (your local drugstore, $4.49). Creamy, stays on well, gorgeous color. Amazing deal. Lipkick Rich Color Lipstick Full-coverage, moisturizing formula provides a super lustrous finish. Packed with pigment shades with over-the-top shine and intense color payoff. Upscale, brushed silver lipstick case gives a totally chic look to this revolutionary new formula. We love Satin Ribbon and Romantic Rose. Jane Cosmetics ditched its teen image and matured into a cosmetics brand for 20-somethings, it sees better opportunities for growth apart from its former parent company, the Estee Lauder Cos. A year ago, Estee Lauder sold Jane, its sole mass cosmetics brand, to Jane & Co., a new company formed by Harry Adjmi, owner and operator of the apparel company One Step Up, and mass market beauty veteran Lisa Yarnell, formerly of Renaissance Cosmetics and Coty. Jane is targeted to ages 15 to 29, with price points ranging from $3.50 to $5.50. http://www.janecosmetics.com/

LIPGLOSS: We use a few of these, but our all-time favorite is one that’s being discontinued, Tony & Tina’s Divine Lip Shine (www.tonytina.com, $17). Here’s what the website says about the few they have left: Engineered to provide complete coverage and high shine without stickiness. Formulated with extracts for beauty inside and out. Macadamia Nut Oil, Soybean Oil and Shea Butter condition and moisturize, Vitamins A and E nourish, moisturize and protect against free radicals and Aloe and Roman Chamomile soothe and calm. Sunflower Seed Oil, Arnica Extract and vitamin-packed Carrot Oil hydrate and contain antiseptic properties. Essential oils of Tangerine and Lavender create an uplifting scent to keep you happy and relaxed. One coat is all it takes for lipstick-like coverage with amazing shine.

That said, our next favorite is Tony & Tina's Herbal Aromatherapy Lip Gloss (www.sephora.com, $16) which comes in several colors we use. We also have a palatte with a variety of colors that’s great (Universal Kisses Confident Sensuality Lipgloss Palette, also at Sephora, $25).

MASCARA: We actually use two different mascaras. At home, it’s Almay One-Coat in the blackest black (www.drugstore.com, $5.99). In our make-up case, we carry around Smashbox Focal Point Lash Building Mascara in Smashing Black ($16, www.sephora.com)

LOTION: Mario Badescu’s Azulene Hand And Body Lotion (www.mariobadescu.com, $10 for 6 oz., $22 for 16 oz.). Extremely dry skin benefits most from this very rich body lotion. Contains soothing Azulene and Carnation Oil. Also contains nourishing Vitamin “E” and Vitamin “A.” We take this AMAZING lotion when we get manicures, pedicures and massages and the technician never fails to comment on how surprisingly great this lotion is. A big plus for the always allergic BeansTalkers? It’s completely gentle and mild and smells just right. It’s just the best all-around lotion there is.
