Plush Puffs:
Gourmet Marshmallows

Martha Stewart isn't the only one making homemade marshmallows (although it may seem that way). At Kari Feinstein's Style Lounge for the Golden Globes, we discovered the absolute taste treat sensation of Plush Puffs, gourmet marshmallows. Owner and creator Ann Hickey conveniently had a little chef's torch (you've seen it on Food Network, mostly for browning the top of Creme Brulee) and was actually toasting the treats for guests. All we can say is YUM.

They come in a variety of flavors (although Toasted Coconut was our fave), including Carmel Swirl, Chocolate Chippetta, Maple Pecan, Orange Honey, Peppi-Mint, Sydney's Cinnamon, Vanilla Bean (that sounds good!), and Sam's Sour Lemon.

The website at www.plushpuffs.com also has recipes (talk about an awesome hot chocolate!), how to buy, where to buy and all that other good stuff. They come in three different sizes and range in price from $5.49 to $14.99. From their website, here is

The Plush Puff Story

Once upon a time (Halloween time that is) a young boy asked “hey Mom, let’s make pumpkin marshmallows today”. Mom said, “hmmm, that sounds interesting, let’s give it a go!”. Well, that Mom called another Mom (who both coincidentally already worked as chefs together) and they went to it. After many painstaking hours in the test kitchen and many “almost batches”, Plush Puffs were born! And, unfortunately, the pumpkin marshmallow is still in the test kitchen; it turns out that is one tough natural flavor to infuse into a homemade marshmallow (at least to meet our standards). However, and much to our delight, a whole bunch of other flavors have turned out beautifully. From the first hit, Toasted Coconut to the Chocolate Chipetta, they have all been a labor of love. In fact, it is still hard to resist more than one taste test when the batches are being made!
