Downtown Los Angeles, 6 February 2006: James Taylor
was heralded by peers performing -- and BeansTalk was there. Taylor songs were sung by Paul Simon (hitting a couple of "too tight" notes), The Dixie Chicks, India.Arie, Sheryl Crow (with David Crosby and Jackson Browne backing), Keith Urban (whilst Nicole Kidman beamed at him from Table 10), Bruce Springsteen (playing acoustic harmonica and guitar), and Carole King. Taylor himself performed, too. Comics Kevin Nealon and Cheech Marin also spoke and made funnies about Taylor. Marin was none too happy when he had to cut short (he never got to the end of his tale, and suggested the 2200 attendees go to his website to read the rest of his story. Taylor thanked his older children Ben and Sally (by first wife Carly Simon), and his two tiny twins Rufus and Henry (who danced at the show's finale), and his brother Livingston (who also joined in to sing).
