A Real Spa Opens in Culver City
Imagine our delight to hear that a REAL spa had opened in our little hometown of Culver City, Calif.
Skeptics that we are, we furrowed brows at the little neon yellow mini-mall, located just a block from the local Payless, but across the street from trendy veggie eatery Leaf. (See? in the photo on the right, above, that's Oscar-nominee/Desperate Housewife Felicity Huffman to the right of owner Alice Koskas. But step beyond the parking lot, past the red-velvet ropes, and you've entered into a luxurious spa that rivals any we've been to -- and BeansTalk are spa experts, boasting nearly weekly massages (when there's $$ to spare), including massages around the globe.
A good deal of design and comfort consideration were given by owner/operators Alice and Didier Koskas (like us, locals, and also like us, proudly feature an 8-year-old board member).
In addition to the Exlir bar (yum on that Yoga flavor) at the spa's entrance, the soulful waiting room and pristine locker-room facilities, the treatment rooms (of which there are several) are the proverbially graciously appointed. Unlike some "spas," these rooms are very comfortably sized -- you don't feel like you're on a table in a walk-in closet, like many places that try to do what The Lounge Spa has well succeed.
We're darn picky about our massages, harsh judges, if you will, and again, our skeptical selves emerged and quickly disappeared once therapist Gloria began working out those computer/stress-generated tensions. She was, in a truthful word, fantastic. Nimble fingers, intuitive stride. Ah, if only we weren't at the office all day and able to indulge in her services.
Prices are shockingly reasonable and it's that combination of affordability and comfortable elegance that will certainly garner the Lounge Spa many a return client.

Relax to the soft, eclectic music in our 5 treatment rooms decorated with warm chocolate browns and mocha tones. Candles and glow lights light up the room to set the perfect ambience, as you treatment begins.
Based on the names of cocktail drinks, a variety of spa treatments such as On the Rocks- hot stone massage, our classic Spatini Facial, and The Fuzzy Navel, for all your waxing needs, make this a fun, ultra hip, modern feel towards your spa experience.
For those who like to share the experience with someone special or with a girlfriend, reserve the Couple’s Suite and “Make it a Double” Tandem massages side by side.
