BeansTalk’s Item of the Week:

We love this so much, we could make this our item of the month. We don’t understand why so many women invest the big bucks in gorgeous, pricy handbags and then put them on the floor at the movie theater, restaurant, etc. We had some low-rent version of this when we were little (and still going to church with our parents), and could hang it on the back of a pew. Luxe Link was created by Kalika Yap (that's her, above) and her “former NYU roommate, Rosella Bignami, based on her serendipitous discovery of purse links while traveling in Italy. The portable devices attach easily to table and countertops, allowing a woman's purse to hang, rather than sit on a potentially dirty floor, dangle from a chair back where it might fall, or rest uncomfortably on her lap or behind her back.

As a tidy, fastidious sort of person, she said: "When I saw them I freaked out. I thought, 'So I don't have to put my purse on the floor?' I was really excited."

The problem with many other hooks on the market is that they're not very attractive. A President's Man Sits Down on TCM
John Dean, Former Counsel to President Nixon, Sits Down with Robert Osborne To Introduce Special TCM Presentation of All the President’s Men Oscar®-Winning Film Starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman Coming to TCM Sunday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. (ET)

John Dean, former White House counsel to President Richard M. Nixon, sits down with Turner Classic Movies (TCM) host Robert Osborne for an interview introducing TCM’s special election-week presentation of All the President’s Men (1976). Dean provides viewers an insider’s look at the Watergate scandal, which led to Nixon’s resignation. All the President’s Men will air Sunday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. (ET), just prior to Election Day on Nov. 4.

“Watergate was a landmark event in American history, and All the President’s Men is a riveting account of how the investigation unfolded,” said Charles Tabesh, senior vice president of programming for TCM. “We’re excited that John Dean is sharing his insights about Watergate and, of course, the way the events were depicted in All the President’s Men.”

Dean, who has written several books, says in an interview with Osborne that All the President’s Men is one of his favorite films. “It’s not the full story of Watergate by any stretch of the imagination,” he says. “It’s not a documentary.” But All the President’s Men is an entertaining story, he says, about a very complex topic. Dean also says the movie inspired two generations of investigative journalists.

All the President’s Men follows the story of Washington Post reporters Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) and Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) as they chased what became the most politically charged story of the era. The film opens as Woodward looks into the arrest of a group of men accused of breaking into Democratic campaign headquarters, located in the Watergate hotel complex. When two of the men prove to have connections to a White House aide, Woodward smells a potential scandal.

After taking his story to his boss, legendary newsman Ben Bradlee (Jason Robards), Woodward is teamed with Bernstein, who has more experience and more contacts. The two reporters pursue the story relentlessly, getting assistance from an insider they dub “Deep Throat” (Hal Holbrook) and a bookkeeper (Jane Alexander) who fears for her life. They come to realize that the scandal reaches all the way into the Oval Office.

Nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director (Alan J. Pakula) and Best Supporting Actress (Jane Alexander), the movie took home four awards for Best Supporting Actor (Robards), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Art Direction-Set Decoration and Best Sound.

Before becoming White House counsel in July 1970 at age 31, John Dean was chief minority counsel to the judiciary committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, the associate director of a law reform commission and associate deputy attorney general of the United States. He served as President Nixon’s White House lawyer for 1,000 days.

Dean did his undergraduate studies at Colgate University and the College of Wooster, with majors in English literature and political science. He received a graduate fellowship from American University to study government and the presidency, before entering Georgetown University Law Center, where he received his J.D. in 1965.

Dean has long written on the subjects of law, government and politics. He recounted his days in the Nixon White House and Watergate in two books: Blind Ambition (1976) and Lost Honor (1982). In 2001, he published The Rehnquist Choice: The Untold Story of the Nixon Appointment that Redefined the Supreme Court. He followed that with a biography of President Warren G. Harding and Worse than Watergate: The Secret Presidency of George W. Bush. In 2006, Dean published Conservatives Without Conscience. His newest book is Broken Government: How Republican Rule Destroyed the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches.

Having retired from his career as an investment banker, Dean now devotes his time to writing and lecturing. He lives in Beverly Hills, Calif., with his wife, Maureen.

Primeval’s Creatures Return For Season Finale

The season finale of BBC America’s hit thriller, Primeval, will prove deadly for more than one member of the team. Since unexplained anomalies began ripping holes in the fabric of time, Professor Nick Cutter (Douglas Henshall) and his team have faced off against everything from a sabre-toothed tiger to a family of raptors to deadly predators from the future. Now a lethal experiment may unleash all of these creatures at once, threatening to destroy the human race.

In the season finale of the hit adventure series from the creator of Walking With Dinosaurs, tension has hit an all-time high. Cutter, Jenny (Lucy Brown), Connor (Andrew-Lee Potts) and Abby (Hannah Spearritt) are all being held captive in an abandoned Ministry of Defense base – surrounded by deadly creatures that all look too familiar. While Cutter is reeling from the revelation that his wife Helen (Juliet Aubrey) helped government lackey turned traitor, Oliver Leek (Karl Theobald), capture creatures from anomalies, he learns of Leek’s plan to breed predators for an army of beasts. Before the season finale, the Primeval team faces mer-creatures from the future lurking in the canal, Stephen and Cutter are caught in the Silurian desert and Lester’s worst nightmare is realized as a mammoth rips through traffic on a London freeway.

Q. How long have you been in the industry?

A. Officially 24 years.

Q. Which facet of your career is the most exciting at the moment?

Being buried alive under six feet of suffocating dirt; the strike of a lethal snake; terrorist attacks that can occur at any time. These are just a few of the fears that cause the pulse to quicken and the muscles to tense up. Scientists refer to this as “fight or flight,” an instinctual response to danger, which throughout history has been essential to survival. PRIMAL FEAR, a two-hour special premiering on History™ Monday, October 27, 2008 at 9 p.m. ET/PT explores the science and background behind our deepest fears and their influence on pop culture and the human condition.

Whether the fear is inherent, traceable through our ancestry, or a learned fear caused by a traumatic event, the response is the same: the trigger of a small gland in the brain called the amygdala. Compadre Records/Music World Music has announced the release of JOHNNY CASH REMIXED, featuring bold new interpretations of Johnny Cash classics from top music remixers and producers who were recruited to take the original master recordings and infuse them with the sounds and technology of modern music styles such as hip hop and dance music. The album, which includes a performance from Snoop Dogg, will be available in stores and online on January 27. A vinyl deluxe-edition will be available on September 23 in select independent record stores.

Johnny Cash Remixed is a tribute to the legacy of an American music icon whose work has touched every contemporary genre, and has the blessing and support of the custodians of Johnny Cash's legacy.

"My father made his stead by defying the expected and accepted way of things" says John Carter Cash son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash and Executive Producer of the Academy Award(c)-winning film, Walk the Line. "He set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, this CD touches on undiscovered ground. This is what my father was about: staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking new music."

Johnny Cash classics were licensed from Cash's first record label, the legendary Sun Records, also the first record label home of luminaries such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison. The original tracks, recorded with Cash's first band the Tennessee Two from 1956-1959, were pure and stark, with only the essentials; guitar, light percussion and Johnny Cash's unmistakable voice and presence. The new mixes maintain this fantastic charm and personality while filing out the sound and creating daring re-interpretations.

The remixed tracks (and remixers) include "I Walkte The Line" featuring Snoop Dogg (QDT, the new production team led by Snoop Dogg - featuring Snoop, Teddy Riley and DJ Quik), "Country Boy" (Sonny J, whose album was released in August on Astralwerks US), "Get Rhythm" (Philip Steir, the only remixer allowed to work with the Reprise Records Frank Sinatra collection), "Leave that Junk Alone" (Alabama 3, creators of The Sopranos theme song), "Folsom Prison Blues" (the legendary Pete Rock), "Hey Porter" (Mocean Worker, whose remix of Elvis Presley's "Burnin' Love" was used as a soundtrack to Honda's Superbowl TV commercial), "Sugartime" (Kennedy, cornerstone of the new UK Dirty Pop movement), "Trail To Mexico" (indie favorite Mexican Institute of Sound/MIS), "Doin' My Time" (The Heavy, critically-acclaimed UK-based band) and "Wide Open Road" (Count de Money) among others.

A documentary following the making will be included with the album, and was produced by Phear Creative in NYC. This short film features interviews from select remixers, filmed in their home studios, including Snoop Dogg captured at the Cash Recording Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

BeansTalk’s Exclusive Interview with IcePod’s Jon Levine

BeansTalk finally got’s owner to talk to us about his extremely cool (and celeb popular Icepod).

Why icepod? (ie Where did you get the idea for it)

In late 2004, my brother, Danny, who was (and still is) very in to hip hop, retro Jordans, basketball, and high-end urban style, had just bought an iPod. He also just started an online sneaker and apparel website ( and the two of us were always brainstorming about different product and business ideas. Around the same time we happened to catch a few music videos where the artists were wearing huge blingin’ chains and charms... It didn’t take long after realizing the soon-to-become iPod craze and peoples’ obsession with bling that I put together the two. So, out popped the idea – why not combine the iPod and the bling together. The initial idea was to simply have a case for iPods made of precious metal and diamonds. My brother added the twist that led to adding the wearability, so that the iPod could be worn on a chain. My brother Danny also came up with the name – icepod. Over the next several months I developed the idea further, created a business and then finally after two years, given that no one else had beat me to the punch, I brought icepod products public and officially launched the company in January 2008 at the Sundance Film Festival.

What makes icepod different from other "I" products available on the market today?

icepod is the only wearable (on a chain or on a purse strap or belt loop) precious metal with or without diamonds (or other stones) line of pendants for the iPods and the iPhone. icepods and the icephone are fully customizable whereby the customer can choose the metal and stone type and laser engraving and other high-end handcrafting is available.

We will soon have products available for other popular hand held gadgets, such as the Zune mp3 player, BlackBerrys, and cell phones.

What kind of products do you have now?

We have a full line of products for the various recent iPod styles and the iPhone. Specifically, the icepods are made for: 30gb Video, 60gb & 80gb Video, Shuffle, both the 2nd and 3rd Generation Nanos, all model of the 1st Generation Touch, the 80gb & 160gb Classics, and the 1st Generation iPhone. We will very soon release pieces for the newest 4th Generation Nano, Touch, and 3G iPhone.

What is the price range and where can people buy them?

Prices range from $75 for a gold-plated icepod for the Shuffle, for example, all the way to thousands for a custom-made platinum and diamond pave piece for the 160gb Classic. All pieces come with a matching necklace. Prices for the mid-tier line that consists of 14K gold plated or Sterling Silver plated with either Swarovski Crystals or high-end cubic zirconia range from $75 to approximately $400. These products will soon be available online and in select boutiques around the country. Currently, icepod is available at Traffic Boutique in Dallas and New Orleans and will soon be available at Lulu in Bal Harbor Shops in Bal Harbor (Miami area), Florida. Is it a challenge keeping up with the changing sizes and shapes of the "i"products?

It can be challenging in that it is expensive and time consuming. Each time Apple, for example, changes an iPod style, we must have new tooling developed, samples made, and a new production process started that includes a long testing and quality control period. Plus it is very expensive and requires much collaboration with our manufacturers overseas. We do our best to release all new, in-demand styles as soon as possible.

Tell me about some of the reactions you've gotten regarding the product?

Literally ALL reactions have been positive, many times wildly enthusiastic... After all, icepod is truly unique and is a product never seen before in the marketplace. Customers are tired of the same old accessories and are always excited when something new appears! When I wear my icepod out, I am constantly stopped by random individuals wanting to know what it is and where they can get one! It’s definitely a conversation piece.

Purposely, icepod’s initial launch and promotional activities have been in the celebrity arena, such that we will become known as THE product to have, thus creating the demand. So far, every celebrity that we have met and gifted, from the A-Listers on down absolutely LOVED icepod. Miley Cyrus, for example, stated publicly, “I just love the little icepod...” and Rachel Hunter commented that icepod was such a clever and absolutely genius product idea. Every celebrity that I have personally met and gifted an icepod to were thrilled. I recently gifted icepods to Holly, Bridget, and Kendra (The Girls Next Door) at a recent Playboy Mansion charity event. They were very thankful, enthused, had nothing but kind comments, and wore their icepods the rest of the night, including while on stage during the Ludacris performance!

What are you hoping for, for the future of the company?

The parent company, Ice Innovations, hopefully will continue to grow and expand. We will soon be launching glamorous products for other popular handheld gadgets. We also have plans to one day launch a clothing line and possibly a fragrance. We will always strive to develop innovative, high-end, fresh products that our customers will want to be the first to own.

My husband has the ipod 80 gig video and it has that silvery thing that shows fingerprints like crazy. Will a product like yours prevent that?

While an icepod will serve as a protective cover (it is lined with a cushioned fabric), it is a piece of jewelry and should be taken care of as such. The current icepod pendant line covers the front of the iPod only. A soon to be released full front and back case (also wearable) will protect the entire iPod. The best part of an icepod as a functional protective cover, is that if dropped or scratched, the iPod will be protected and the icepod can simply be brought to a jeweler to be fixed, polished, or brought back to its original perfect state!

TCM Uncovers Lost Cult Classic

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has uncovered one of the world’s most sought-after cult films to kick off the latest season of its late-night movie showcase TCM UNDERGROUND. The World’s Greatest Sinner, Timothy Carey’s rock-and-roll satire about politics and religion, features a score by rock experimentalist Frank Zappa. The movie will make its cable television debut on TCM Friday, Oct. 24, at 11 p.m. (ET).

“TCM UNDERGROUND is a great showcase for this memorable example of underground filmmaking,” said Charles Tabesh, senior vice president of programming for TCM. “We are proud to be able to bring this rarely seen film to our viewers, especially at a time when its take on religious and political themes is quite timely. It’s also a great chance for viewers to enjoy music from Frank Zappa during his pre-Mothers of Invention days.”

The World’s Greatest Sinner is a film so underground, it doesn’t even register in most film guides and histories,” said Romeo Carey, son of the film’s producer-writer-director. “I’m thrilled TCM is able to give movies like this a chance to be seen.”

In The World’s Greatest Sinner, producer-writer-director Carey plays Clarence Hilliard, an insurance salesman who loses his job after telling potential customers that life insurance is pointless. He then starts preaching radical religious ideas to an ever-growing crowd, incorporating rock-and-roll music into his act and eventually declaring himself to be God. After drawing large crowds to his crazed performances, he catches the attention of a political boss and is soon put up as an independent candidate for President.

The World’s Greatest Sinner comes to TCM from Absolute Films and Romeo Carey, the son of the movie’s creator. This film has garnered a considerable cult following, despite never receiving a full national release. Much of the appeal is driven by Carey’s no-holds-barred performance and Zappa’s unique score.

In addition, notable voice-over artist Paul Frees provides the narration. And Ray Dennis Steckler, who won his own cult following with such films as Rat Pfink a Boo Boo and The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies, served as a cameraman.

has named two additional celebrity honorees who will be on hand at their inaugural 2008 Stuntwomen's Awards Luncheon.

Four-time Olympic Gold Medalist/WNBA star Lisa Leslie of the Los Angeles Sparks and Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-nominated actress Linda Hamilton, will accept respective honors at the Awards Luncheon, scheduled for Sunday, October 19th, at MountainGate Country Club, 12445 Mountain Gate Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90049.

The Reception and Silent Auction begins at 11 AM followed by the Luncheon and Awards Ceremony at 12:30 PM. One to Watch: Tanna Fredrick

From BeansTalk friend, Lori DeWaal: Tanna Frederick's story is right out of an old Hollywood fairy tale. A young actress from Iowa hoping for a break writes a letter to a famous director, which earns her an audition that leads to the part of a lifetime and rave reviews. But Frederick's story is about much more than luck - it's also the success story of a gifted performer, dedicated to her craft and confident in her ability to make things happen, on screen and off.

When she first wrote independent director Henry Jaglom, Frederick admits that she hadn't seen any of his films. But after meeting him and starring successfully in one of Jaglom's locally produced plays, she quickly became a fan and was thrilled when he wrote the role of Margie Chizek for his fifteenth feature, "Hollywood Dreams." While there are some similarities between Margie and Tanna - both are from Iowa, and both are in love with films from the Hollywood's Golden Age - Margie is a barely contained neurotic mess, at an emotional and professional breaking point when she happens to meet an industry power broker who thinks she could be a star.

The New York Times noted that her "irresistible" performance is "as startling as it is touching," and other critics have described her work as "jaw-dropping," "radiant," "Oscar-worthy," "fearless," "stunning," and "spellbinding." The “Hollywood Dreams” DVD release is set for May 6th.

Frederick's performance earned her Best Actress kudos at last year's Montana International Film Festival, and propelled the film to Best Picture honors at the San Luis Obispo Film Festival and the Best Comedy award at WorldFest Houston. She most recently won Best Actress at the Fargo Film Festival.

Following up on her successful collaboration with Jaglom, she starred last fall in his play "Always - But Not Forever," where critics again hailed her talent as "marvelously textured," "riveting," and "honest." She will next star in Jaglom's "Irene in Time" with Victoria Tennant, Andrea Marcovicci, Karen Black and David Proval, due in theatres March 2009. Later this year, she will begin production on "Queen of the Lot" and reprise her role as Margie. "Queen of the Lot" picks up Margie's career three years after the end of "Hollywood Dreams" and will co-star Noah Wyle.

Off-screen, Frederick has proved just as driven and talented. A fitness aficionado who runs daily, she is also an expert at Tae Kwon Do, and has been a passionate surfer for two years. Last year, she co-founded the Make a Wave Project, an annual surfing event benefiting the Oceana Foundation (next year it will be held January 24, 2009 in Santa Monica.) She was also behind the creation of the Iowa Film Festival, which debuted successfully two years ago and has tripled in size. But whatever her endeavor, Tanna Frederick brings passion and imagination, and seems poised to find great success on the road ahead.

TV Guide is "Bought"

See the memo below -- OpenGate Capital is an investment acquisition firm that has been looking to build an entertainment media department. It's headed by Andrew Nikou. We may be reading this wrong, but it appears to us that the magazine has been purchased by a company without any experience in publishing, but with an interest in dipping their collective corporate toe into the water of the entertainment industry.

What the company's forte appears to be is to evaluate a company and present it, after it's been "OpenGate"-d and subsequently find appropriate "investors" who have deep pockets. At any rate, it's sad to see the magazine bumped around from "owner" to "owner," as it has been in the last five years.

Hopefully, someone, with adequate experience and a vision beyond the standard weekly tabloid, will take TV Guide and turn it back into what it was originally intended to be: a magazine about television. And by television, we don't mean just CSI, Grey's Anatomy, blah blah. If TV Guide could reinvent itself again -- separate itself from In Touch and Life & Style and US (which it ABSOLUTELY cannot compete with) -- and become a wholly television-related entity, it may still have some life.

What if it were to become a bi-monthly mag (every other week), with critical prime-time listings, but also in-depth profiles of all different types of television shows, stars of shows and below the line talent. It can still make very good use of a website that would work completely in conjunction with the magazine. Run condensed or partial stories that are in the magazine. If there is someone who gets some seriously "breaking" news, break it online. Elaborate it in the magazine. Get some angle that would have some legs so that it's still relevant a week and a half later.

We (BeansTalk) are fans of little seen shows like My Boys and 10 Items or Less, and a slew of other shows you might not have heard of, but should. There's not really a venue to promote those shows or satisfy the fans of some of the new series.

The editors there have been fired, retired, forced out, switched around and the focus has on non-real news staff, eg. a contributor to Star was given a prominent position there and has broken not one story. Nada.

What TV Guide needs are editors who are focused on PRIME-TIME (a main managing editor with associate editors for each network and cablers), REALITY, SPORTS. Add to that a features area that would encompass profiles and photo-driven stories about sets or fashion or cars or some other element that has caught or can catch the fancy of fans. They do not need to have 20 Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice/Heros/Lost covers. There are many people who do NOT watch those shows, believe it or not.

Leave the GOSSIP to the rags, who have staff who can grease palms, who have freelancers who are young, tenacious, pretty and Teddy-ready. It's absurd to have a cover story on Prince William getting back together with Kate Middleton. It's a waste of time, energy and a loss of any serious subscribers or readers.

Make TV Guide something other than the slew of other entertainment "news" magazines that are more salacious than any Rona Barrett tabloid. Set it apart. Get off the bandwagon.

It's our opinion that if TV Guide doesn't go back to being a magazine exclusively about television, with news entailing the fate of series, guest talent, a more intensive look at series that may include a weekly column/page/feature on a show runner, etc.

‘Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison: Legacy Edition’ Features Exclusive Documentary

January 13, 1968 has long been regarded as the day that Johnny Cash recorded one of the greatest albums of all time ‘At Folsom Prison.’ Commemorating the 40th anniversary of this recording, ‘Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison: Legacy Edition’ features previously unreleased materials from that epic day including a new documentary film with exclusive footage from behind the walls of Folsom Prison. The DVD also features unpublished images of Cash in the crowning moment of his career, captured by the legendary rock and roll photographer Jim Marshall, and new interviews with Merle Haggard, Rosanne Cash, Marty Stuart, and former inmates who witnessed the concert.

TCM's 24-Hour Tribute to Legend Paul Newman

will dedicate its entire 24-hour schedule Sunday, October 12, 2008 to paying tribute to Oscar®-winning actor Paul Newman, who passed away 26 September 2008 at the age of 83. The collection features his iconic performance in Cool Hand Luke (1967) and his breakthrough role in Somebody up There Likes Me (1956). Also included are the Alfred Hitchcock thriller Torn Curtain (1966), the Otto Preminger epic Exodus (1960) and the gripping drama Hud (1963), as well as Newman’s directorial debut Rachel, Rachel (1968), co-starring his wife, Joanne Woodward.

The following is the complete schedule for TCM’s Oct. 12 tribute to Paul Newman:

6 a.m. The Rack (1956) – Paul Newman plays a Korean War veteran who has been brainwashed and is now on trial for treason in this taut drama based on a Rod Serling teleplay. Walter Pidgeon and Wendell Corey co-star.

8 a.m. Until They Sail (1957) – This drama directed by Robert Wise tells the story of four sisters each struggling to find love and happiness in New Zealand during World War II. Newman plays a Marine captain who falls for one of the sisters, a widow played by Jean Simmons. This film marks Newman’s emergence as a matinee idol.

10 a.m. Torn Curtain (1966) – An American scientist pretends to be a defector in order to get some vital information in this Alfred Hitchcock thriller co-starring Julie Andrews. Newman’s fight scene in a small farmhouse is a brilliant but disturbing Hitchcock set piece.

12:15 p.m. Exodus (1960) – Otto Preminger directed this epic adaptation of Leon Uris’ history of the Palestinian war. Newman plays an Israeli resistance leader, while Eva Marie Saint co-stars as an army nurse. Ernest Gold won an Oscar for his memorable score.

3:45 p.m. Sweet Bird of Youth (1962) – Newman and co-star Geraldine Page reprised their Broadway roles for this adaptation of the Tennessee Williams drama. In it, Newman returns to his hometown with an aging movie queen in tow. Ed Begley won an Oscar for his performance as the town boss.

6 p.m. Hud (1963) – This modern western, based on a book by Larry McMurtry, features impeccable performances by Newman and Oscar winners Patricia Neal and Melvyn Douglas. Newman plays a restless youth who destroys nearly everything he touches. Also earning an Oscar for this drama was cinematographer James Wong Howe.

8 p.m. Somebody up There Likes Me (1956) – This Robert Wise-directed biography of boxer Rocky Graziano traces his rise from the streets of New York to packed arena. Pier Angeli co-stars.

10 p.m. Cool Hand Luke (1967) – Newman gives a powerful and endearing performance as a member of a prison chain gang in this drama laced with ample doses of anti-establishment humor. Co-star George Kennedy took home an Oscar for his performance, while Strother Martin nearly steals the film as the warden.

12:15 a.m. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) – Tennessee Williams’ classic drama comes to the screen with an outstanding cast headed by Newman and Elizabeth Taylor. The story involves a rich Southern family of greedy vultures hovering around while their patriarch, played by Burl Ives, prepares to die.

2:15 a.m. Rachel, Rachel (1968) – Newman co-stars with is wife, Joanne Woodward, in this sensitive drama about a spinster trying to come out of her shell. This film marked Newman’s directorial debut.

4 a.m. The Outrage (1964) – Newman stars as a Mexican bandit accused of rape in this adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s Rashomon. Edward G. Robinson, Claire Bloom, Laurence Harvey and William Shatner co-star.
