Scion + malbon Brothers + Golf

malbon Brothers Farms Collaborates with Scion to Launch “Release” Sportswear Collection with a Swinging Celebrity Golf Invitational Golf Tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona Benefits the Boys & Girls Club of America -

This Spring, malbon Brothers Farms (mBF), IMG and Beyond Marketing brings to Scottsdale, Arizona an event merging the worlds of fashion, automobiles and sports – The Scion Release Invitational (SRI).

In addition to being a charity celebrity golf tournament, this monumental event will also serve as the launch of Scion’s new sportswear collection – RELEASE.

The two-day golf Invitational, takes place at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa and the Tournament Players Club (TPC) from March 20-21, 2006.

The Scion Release Invitational brings together those in the industries of music, fashion, film, and sports to take part in charity golf and celebrate the launch of this innovative clothing brand, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of America.

BeansTalk loves Scion, especially since we drive an xb (our car looks just like the one in the pic above...although probably not quite as sparkly clean).

Celebrities and teams to date include RZA, Gabrielle Union, Mike Jones, Hill Harper, America’s Next Top Model winner Naima Mora, Sleepy Brown, Mobb Deep, Zoe Saldana, Tony Yayo, Trina, Trick Daddy, Lloyd Banks, Juvenile, Fabolous, Ray J, MOP, Interpol’s Paul Banks, Raekwon, Timbaland, Cartoon, Estevan, Paul Wall, Skinhead Rob, Trina, Mike Vogel, Lance Bass, Tiny “Debo” Lister, KD Aubert, Chris Jacobs, Kelly Carlson, Corri English, Kevin Sorbo, Zachary English, Wild ‘N Out producer Nick Cannon, NFL players Haloti Ngata, Damion Anderson, Kyle Kosier, Marvel Smith and Adalius Thomas, pro skateboarder Stevie Williams, Jesse Terreo, Dania Ramirez, Burton team members Romain DeMarchi, Todd Richards, Dingo, Olympic silver medalist Danny Cass and Olympic gold medalist Hannah Teter, G-Unit & 50 Cent, Vibe Magazine, Stuff Magazine, Frank151, Mass Appeal, Vice, MTV, Yokohama, Soul Assassins, NFL Players Inc., XM Radio, Boost Mobile, Reebok, and with HBO’s Entourage star, Jeremy Piven, as the weekend’s host.

Monday, March 20, 2006, marks the first full day of the tournament with a shotgun-style 18-hole golf competition. The first day ends with a cocktail reception and dinner, followed by a fashion show to celebrate the launch of Release. The last day of the event concludes with another full day of golfing and an awards dinner to congratulate the winners. The awards dinner will include a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The success of the Scion brand has created a culture that extends beyond the automobile industry – Release being its latest development launching into the world of fashion. Release is a sportswear line with a twist, combining traditional golf wear with cutting edge, high end streetwear sensibility. The 2006 Release line is co-designed by Blue Davis and Jupiter Desphy III, two of the most sought after streetwear designers in the country. Through a national search of well-known designers, 10 were chosen to submit their collections to Scion. Out of the 10 entries, Blue and Jupiter were selected to create the first Release collection. Continuing to embody the “freedom of artistic expression” theme that inspired Scion’s line of vehicles, Release is also the expression of luxury.

This celebrity golf tournament brings together vehicles, sport and fashion.
