WHO: The Los Angeles Chapter awarded eight-time GRAMMY® nominee Snoop Dogg, four-time GRAMMY winner Lalo Schifrin, and MySpace.com co-founders Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe as recipients of The Recording Academy Honors" 2006. Special live performances and presentations included Interscope Geffen A&M Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine; multi-platinum recording artist Bow Wow; eight-time GRAMMY winner Natalie Cole; four-time GRAMMY winner Dr. Dre; recording artists Platinum Weird (Kara DioGuardi and Dave Stewart); Neil Portnow, President of The Recording Academy®; director Brett Ratner; and actor/comedian Chris Tucker. Special guest attendees included Nate Dogg, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, Rickey Minor, and Warren G. Los Angeles Chapter Board of Governor Greg Phillinganes was the musical director and "Access Hollywood" correspondent and Emmy®-award winning journalist Shaun Robinson served as the evening's emcee.

WHAT: Los Angeles Chapter Presents The Recording Academy Honors The Recording Academy Honors (formerly the Governor Awards) is the highest honor presented by an Academy Chapter, and is designed to honor extraordinary artists whose creative talents and accomplishments have crossed all musical boundaries and have been recognized as an asset to our community. The evening included a silent auction of unique experiences packages, dinners, and special live performances. Proceeds from The Recording Academy Honors 2006 will benefit the Los Angeles Chapter's ongoing initiatives, and the silent auction proceeds will assist in funding scholarships for the GRAMMY Fou
ndation®'s GRAMMY CampSM program.
