Prison Break Gets Second Season

Fox has picked up a second season of the drama series Prison Break starring Dominic Purcell (seen here, right) as a wrongly convicted death row inmate and Wentworth Miller as his brother, who, armed with the prison's blueprints tattooed over his body, devises an elaborate plan to break him out, prove his innocence and uncover the conspiracy that landed both of them in maximum security. After their initial escape attempt proves unsuccessful and Lincoln is granted a brief stay of execution, the brothers are forced to rely on their dangerous contingency plan, as well as a growing number of fellow inmates now involved, in order to escape before Lincoln is put to death.

After its “fall finale” in November, Prison Break returned to the Fox schedule the week of March 20, winning its Monday 8-9 PM time period among Adults 18-34, Men 18-34 and Teens. Prison Break has gained +7% in Total Viewers (10.2 vs. 9.5 Mil) over its fall episodes.

So far on Mondays, Prison Break shows impressive gains compared to Fox's prior 05/06 season average in the time period, including +57% among Adults 18-49 (4.4/12 vs. 2.8/7), +81% among Adults 18-34 (4.9/14 vs. 2.7/8) and +42% in Total Viewers (10.2 vs. 7.2 Mil).

Prison Break is from Original Films and Adelstein/Parouse Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created by Paul Scheuring, and Scheuring, Marty Adelstein, Dawn Parouse, Neal H. Moritz, Matt Olmstead and Brett Ratner are executive producers.

J-Lo's Out-and- About in El Lay

Jennifer Lopez is with hubby Marc Anthony in Los Angeles. She was caught by the ever-present paparazzi shopping, carrying a large wine colored leather saddle style handbag, a couple of actual shopping bags and donning a chic-ly swept up Ali McGraw style head wrap. Sure, she may be trying to channel some kind of Boheme/Gypsy look, or she may have a super good way of handling a bad hair day -- or an "I didn't wash my hair" day. But she's still wearing what are still the coolest and most sought after denim: 7 for All Mankind jeans, showing off her ever-so enviable and much heralded hindquarters.

Mummy-to-Be Katie Loves 7 For All Mankind, Too

This is the first genuine smile we've seen from Katie Holmes (seen here with actor Tom Cruise). Lately, photos of her have depicted a strained smile, head cast downward. We know why she looks so suddenly jolly: she's got super cool 7 For All Mankind jeans on. That must be it!

My Little Pretty’s Necklace on America’s Next Top Model

America’s Next Top Model national ad campaign features the original 13 model hopefuls in a fairy-tale setting. A My Little Pretty necklace is featured on aspiring model (and rejected Top Model), Kathy. Top row, left corner, long hair, serious face (and equally serious southern accent), just underNenna.

Designer Kristy Nuttall’s pink flower necklace is now inside the pages of major magazines, plastered on billboards, on the side of buses, and even in Times Square. Stylist Marc Littlejohn pulled the necklace from the PURE showroom.

Due to the demand for this piece, My Little Pretty has created the design again and is featuring it on her website to purchase at http://www.mylittlepretty.com/antm.html. The necklace is $75 with the large pendant and $70 for the small pendant.

These limited edition necklaces are made with cherry quartz and a mother of pearl flower pendant. They are all hand wire-wrapped with sterling silver wire. The larger mother of pearl flower pendant (the exact replica of the one featured on Top Model) is approximately 2" from top to bottom whereas the smaller is about 11⁄2". This necklace is approximately 181⁄2" but can be made a little smaller upon request.

My Little Pretty will be at Shecky’s Girls Night Out, Thursday May 11, 2006 at the Hollywood Palladium, more information at www.sheckys.com. Stay tuned for My Little Pretty and other PURE designers on this season of Top Model, which airs on UPN Wednesdays at 8 p.m., http://www.upn.com/shows/top_model6/.

Crazy Cuddly Cashmere: Hello Kitty Style!

Hello Kitty Cashmere

Hello Kitty is pawing her cute little charming way out of the local mall. The Sanrio favorite lipless white cat, popular worldwide for more than 40 years is expanding into further cuddly-ness: the most luxurious knit of all, cashmere.

Philippe Chiriki, owner of “Victoria Couture” introduces “Hello Kitty Cashmere,” an upscale (what else would cashmere be?) line for all ages. Celebrity fans, like model Kate Moss, have already caught a glimpse of the line and love it.

Included in Chiriki’s line are sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves, pillows and more items, featuring the signature “Hello Kitty” logo. Chiriki will add high-end t-shirts, denim and more apparel.

The line will be sold in boutiques in the U.S. and Canada, including such iconic shops as Kitson, Scoop, Lulu, Fed Segal, as well as the Neiman Marcus catalogue and Neiman Marcus on-line. For more information, visit Chiriki’s site, www.victorialcouture.com.

For those who have to have everything, the most valued piece in the line is “The Collector,” and retails for approximately $1650. A “V-Neck” sweater retails for $295.

The line seems destined to merge the retro, kitsch effect with high-fashion and comfort –what more could a daring fashionista ask for?

Twenty years in the business has rendered Hello Kitty Cashmere's Philippe Chiriki a keen eye for fashion. This is the Hello Kitty Cashmere collection's piece de resistance: The Collector. It may be pricey at $1450, but really, how cute is this??? Here's a look (right) at the front and a look (left) at the back. You will no doubt be the envy of your friends!

Stott’s Messiah

Ken Stott (The Vice, The Girl in the Café) returns as Detective Chief Inspector Red Metcalfe in a BBC America original co-production. The two-part thriller follows the detective as a killer taunts and confuses him with chilling clues left behind on victims’ bodies. Messiah: The Harrowing premieres Monday, April 10, 2006 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT and Tuesday, April 11, 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT.

Red Metcalfe and Detective Duncan Warren (Neil Dudgeon, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason) are joined by new Detective Vickie Clarke (Maxine Peake) and pathologist Rachel Price (Helen McCrory, Casanova) in a race to get ahead of a killer whose motives and methods seem beyond understanding.

In Part One, the body of a 20 year-old student is found locked in an abandoned car on a landfill where she has been left to die in terrible circumstances. Her fate foreshadows an epic trail of death leading Metcalfe through the darkest recesses of the serial killer’s mind.

In the second installment the body count rises as a young student is stung to death by bees, a dying woman overdoses on morphine and two female lovers are hooked together like meat. As the terror escalates, Red Metcalf and his team strive desperately to plot the next move of a killer whose actions continue to defy reason.

Red eventually concludes that the pattern of murders is based on Dante’s nine circles of hell. If he’s right, “The Greedy” will be next and the horror is just beginning. With a chilling tally of deaths, fantastic twists, and suspects everywhere, Messiah offers no gimmicks, just ripping plot lines. Can Red and his team put aside their own emotional torment and find method in the madness of this vicious killer?

Every Move They Make, Every Breath They Take

The latest photo, seen left of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie (and Pitt fetus), Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Mad Jolie-Pitt, was taken at a Paris airport. The family's destination was unknown, but there was much speculation. We find it interesting that there was a super buzz about the couple marrying at George Clooney's Italian villa last weekend, and then fizzle. Nothing. We suspect they're already married, just like Katie (Strained Smile, Lowered Head) Holmes and Tom (Shudder) Cruise.

At any rate, can you imagine being these two? One of our first glimpses into the difficult end of celebrity was a video of the paparazzi who were stalking Pitt (alone, although this was during his Aniston union). They were relentless. We'd always been all, well, if you're a celebrity, fame is one of the prices you pay. But this was amazing. He couldn't even walk in a straight line, despite the "handlers" and "bodyguards" who were trying to help direct him to the gate he was headed to (or the airport exit, we're not sure which). Autograph seekers, and photographers kept jumping in front of him shouting.

From the way Jolie and Pitt are covered by the tabloids, there's not doubt there's plenty of that action going on, if not more.

We see it this way: there are basically four tabloid covers: Pitt/Jolie, Simpson/Lachey, Spears/Federline and Holmes/Cruise. Photogs seek out their prey and then go for it. Sure, if Nicole Kidman ties the knot with that scruffy, bossy (we saw him in action, in person at the Music Cares James Taylor event) Aussie country singer beau friend of hers, she'll pop up on the cover, and when ..we mean IF... Sandra Bullock splits from Jesse James they'll garner a cover until attention goes back to...one of those four.

Gossip: Couples Go Pfssst...

Which means, kaput. We were actually happy that Naomi Watts found someone her own age (unlike previous celeb beau, Oscar nominee Heath Ledger) in Liev Schrieber. They seemed like such a cute couple. But alas, they are no more.

Also out are Scarlett Johansson and Josh Harnett, another super cute (although low-profile in the celebrity universe).

And, one of our favorite couples -- who seemed to have found someone just right for them -- are also allegedly on the outs: Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro. All the reports seem to have some credence -- Navarro was spotted wedding ring-less and they've been in separate cities (countries, continents, even) quite a bit.

Madonna and Guy Richie tried to prove at they're still together and happy at the costume Purim event.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline continue to baffle the tabloids -- are they together? Or not? Are they on the outs? Is she pregnant? She was spotted drinking alcohol a couple of days ago, so she may not be. The couple were most recently high profile in Las Vegas, where Federline celebrated his 28th birthday (and did a little business, too. Po po Zao, indeed).

Live-Action Simpsons Sunday

Have you ever wondered what Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie would look like in real life? Find out when a live-action main title sequence is unveiled on The Simpsons Sunday, 26 March 2006 (8-8:30 p.m.) on Fox.

The live-action show opening is an homage to television’s longest-running sitcom. From The Simpsons parting through the clouds to the infamous Bart writing on the chalkboard, Homer pulling the nuclear rod out of his shirt, Maggie scanned at the supermarket and the always-anticipated “couch gag” conclusion, the live-action opening mirrors each element of the animated sequence. The greatest attention to detail was paid in this recreation by a British team, as conceived and commissioned by the UK network Sky One. From wardrobe to location settings to character mannerisms, it’s all translated with uncanny accuracy via real, flesh-and-blood actors.

SaidThe Simpsons executive producer Al Jean, “I’m just amazed there are people who want to be known for looking like the Simpsons.”

The centerpiece of Sky One’s new The Simpsons campaign in the UK, the short will make its American debut in the all-new episode, “Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife,” guest-starring yet another British import, Ricky Gervais. In the episode, Homer's obsession with Lenny's new plasma TV causes Marge to enter the family in a sweepstakes, where they win a prize to the Fox studio lot. Against Marge's judgment, Homer signs the family up for a "Trading Spouses"-type show and is forced to take in a controlling wife, while Marge moves in with a beaten-down husband, Charlie (guest star Gervais), and his perfect son. Charlie quickly develops a crush on Marge, while she’s just trying to give him the strength to stand up to his own wife.

The Simpsons is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. Film Roman is the animation house.

[EDITOR’S NOTE: The live-action opening will not air on Canadian broadcasts of the episode.]

"It’s the maximum amount of storage for an underutilized space," says Umbra’s Nick Gillissie, who co-designed STRETCH with Paul Rowan.

Then there’s the elegant FLIPPER. This curvaceous caddy, designed by David Quan, has customizable flip-down shelves and accommodates a vast array of shower needs, including liter-sized bottles – it even has a clip for a razor. And it will never rust!

Whether used as an easy to carry hamper or to stash and sort items anywhere, the popular CRUNCH® can, designed by Paul Rowan, proves its value every day. Now it’s available with nature-inspired graphics by Sandra Ciganic-McKinney in four distinctive color combinations.

Need extra kitchen storage? Sativa Turner designed a fresh take on a classic with SCHWING, a set of three stainless steel baskets linked by ball chain that keep cooking necessities within reach but out of the way.

Any room with books is a good place for the CONCEAL shelf. A winner in the 2005 Umbra/Pratt design competition, CONCEAL, which can hold a stack of ten books, becomes invisible thanks to two tiny hooks that clasp the bottom cover of the first book placed on it. Says designer Miron Lior, a Pratt junior, “It adds an element of surprise to any dorm room, home library or office.”

Sharon Stone in Rome

A peaceful co-existence between the peoples of the Middle East is but a breath away, Hollywood star Sharon Stone, seen here at the premiere of her film "Basic Instinct 2" in Rome 17 March 2006, said after a highly publicized visit to Israel. Gossip:

Those wacky Brits. Madonna and Guy get costumed up for Purim. Madonna treats her children to $500 facials if they clean their rooms. Madonna is ready to embark on what will likely make her even more big time money making:: her Superstar Pop Tour. Now Dlisted says Madonna is related to Camilla Parker Bowles (previously she found out she was related to Celine Dion. Seriously). Did you know Princess Diana was related to Humphrey Bogart? She was. Madonna has apparently put hublet Guy Richie on a new schedule (apparently to save their marriage). He has an 11 p.m. curfew, he can only have three pints weekly and he must be home three nights a week. Crack that whip, Madge!

If Britney is pregnant for the second time, why was she spotted tossing back rum drinks?

Demi Moore has been actively shopping for baby furniture – does that mean that she and Ashton are reproducing? Maybe they’re adopting (Angelina Jolie and Lauren Holly have done it!).

We think there’s no way that Teri Hatcher is dating Ryan Seacrest and think both she and St. George Clooney protested too much about him being the one who spurred her onto her tell-all in Vanity Fair.

Well, Jessica Simpson has a very SMART publicist. While Nick Lachey is spotted running around with a career-advancing starlet, she’s doing the pseudo political thing for OPERATION SMILE, traveling with her rep, her hair guy Ken Paves and her manager dad, Joe. St. Simpson actually bouffed George W. saying that she didn’t want to politicize Operation Smile.

Speaking of going political and timing it well – Sharon Stone is in Israel – did you hear her crazy intro about herself, “anticipating” someone asking about if she’s naked in her upcoming 14 years in the making sequel, “Basic Instinct 2?”

Here’s what the celebs tell you: that every shot that isn’t posed, that is of them at Starbucks or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (or in Angelina Jolie’s case, taking a flying lesson while being pretty pregnant) – is a Paparrazi shot. Meaning, they’re not getting anything from the photo, but the photo is making big bucks, especially if he’s the one who snapped an exclusive pic of Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn buying, say, a pregnancy test at the drug store. We are NOT starting rumors. That was just an EXAMPLE.

Ah times they are a changin’ Remember the film in which Robert Redford offers marrieds Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson $1 million to sleep with Moore? Now you don’t need to have the sex. Christina Aguilera and Shakira (who told us once she never travels without concealer, her favorite makeup item) were paid $1 million each to perform at Russian rich guy Suleiman Kerimov’s 40th birthday party in Moscow.

(That pic, above, of Madonna, Rocco and Lourdes, is from A Socialite's Life, which offers great reading and fun pics).

About Rockstyle & Founder Shelly Moeller

“Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.” – Led Zeppelin

The vision of combining Rock’n’Roll and fashion was something that came naturally to entrepreneur and designer Shelly Moeller. Inspired by musicians Steven Tyler, Chrissie Hynde, Jimmy Page and the allure of their intoxicating lyrics, Moeller created Rockstyle to embrace the glamour of rock via fashion. Moeller fused two classic icons that have influenced each other powerfully since the sixties - Rock and Fashion.

After moving from Arizona to Los Angeles to pursue modeling at a young age, Moeller soon found herself working at some of the top agencies. This granted her inside access to the LA fashion and music scene. Eventually this led to Mogg Jeans - a high-end denim line that Moeller started with a group of friends. Mogg Jeans soon became a must-be-worn for celebrities, rock stars, and fashionistas alike. Always pushing the envelope, Moeller decided to branch out and created Rockstyle as a combination of her “love and passion for rock and fashion.”

New Coco Loco Smoothie Mani/Pedi Sugar Scrub from Nailtini

Forget the tiki bar. This season’s hot spot is the Nailtini Bar, where the blenders are whirring with the latest “it” cocktail. New Coco Loco Smoothie Mani/Pedi Sugar Scrub serves up a double shot of the smoothest feet on sand and the softest hands ever to wield a tropical drink.

It’s only fitting that Nailtini – known for its premium nail lacquers made for layering into custom “cocktails for nails” -- would add Coco Loco Smoothie to its bar menu. “Luscious summer nail colors and sexy soft skin go hand-in-hand,” says Nailtini creator Michelle Olson.

Coco Loco Smoothie does far more than conjure up visions of Maui with a scrumptious tropical scent. With its emollient, exfoliating blend of sugar granules, coconut milk and pineapple extract, it is a deliciously healthy indulgence for skin. Walnut shell powder boosts smoothing benefits, while sunflower seed oil and jojoba maximize hydration. you’ll have soft and smooth skin faster than you can say “I’ll have another.”

Make this pina colada-scented treat a regular ingredient in more than just your manicure or pedicure. Use it to buff rough, dry elbows or knees back to baby softness. Or massage it all over for superior exfoliation prior to self-tanning.

To use Coco Loco Smoothie, massage a generous amount onto damp skin, paying extra attention to rough spots. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry gently. Note: During the first few uses, expect a small amount of the sugar scrub’s emollient oils to rise to the top of the jar. For the ultimate in mani/pedi indulgence, follow with Nailtini Hot Buttered Rum hand and foot cream and a summer-perfect cocktail of Nailtini nail lacquers.

Coco Loco Smoothie comes in a 2 oz. jar and retails for approximately $16. To locate a retailer near you, visit www.nailtini.com

Stylish Laptop: No Longer a Myth

It’s a common problem for stylish women on the go—they have the cute outfit, the cute luggage…and the not-so-cute laptop bag. UpTown Bella ends this dilemma with a collection of laptop bags that combine fashion and functionality. Now savvy career women can tote their laptop, cell phones, gadgets, iPod, ID, and boarding pass with ease and style. Every UpTown Bella bag features functional pockets and compartments to hold everything imaginable—from a BlackBerry to cosmetics.

UpTown Bella solves the travel problem of juggling your laptop, boarding pass, cell phone, and ID when going through airport check-in. While most laptop bags sacrifice either style or functionality, UpTown Bella is a collection of stylish, luxurious and multifunctional laptop bags for female executives who want it all. Creator Gabby Chan is a business woman who saw the need when her and her style-conscious friends couldn’t find laptop bags that were practical for business yet agreed with their fashion sense. Every UpTown Bellabag must meet their strict criteria: it needs to look good; it needs to be multifunctional and designed for everyday use; it needs to make airport security a breeze; and it needs to have practical features.

“My work requires me to travel a lot to meet customers and vendors,” said Chan, a project manager in Silicon Valley. “Therefore, I need to travel with my laptop all the time. I used to have a black bulky laptop bag, which is not only ugly and heavy but also makes it difficult to remove your laptop at airport security checkpoints. The design of UpTown Bella focuses on those problems and also incorporates features that are ideal for today’s tech savvy career woman.”

UpTown Bella’s collection of bags are named after Chan’s stylish businesswomen friends—Alyssa, Ashley, Jennifer, and Nicole. Every bag has unique features characteristic of the needs of its namesake, from the road warrior to urban nature enthusiast. Women-friendly features on these bags include a built-in LED light that hits right at keyhole level, a special gadget loop and detachable cords for your iPod (you can make song selections without removing your iPod from the bag) and cell phone, special pockets and compartments for essentials such as boarding passes and ID, and protective weatherproof material.

Made of Softtouch Koskin and Plush Suede, UpTown Bellabags come in fun colors ranging from lilac sensation to sweet honeydew. In addition to bags, UpTown Bella carries the Sarah Sleeve, which can be used alone or placed inside all UpTown Bella bags. Its soft handles and front pockets for essentials (phone, pens, etc.) makes it easy to tote the Sarah Sleeve into office meetings or through airport security.
