Actress Dies at 53


Lisa Blount Dies

Actress Lisa Blount, best known for her role as Debra Winger's character's best friend (and romantic interest of David Keith) in "An Officer and a Gentleman," has died. A native of Arkansas, was living in Little Rock when she died -- she and her husband, actor and director Ray McKinnon, returned to Arkansas in 2005. She was a regular on the 1996-1997 TV series, "Profit" and co-starred opposite Billy Ray Thornton in "Chrystal" in 2004. Blount, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for "An Office and a Gentleman," was 53. Blout and McKinnon won the Academy Award for best live action short ("The Accountant") at the 74th Academy Awards on 24 March 2002. They are seen above accepting their Oscar.
