Chaz Dean Styles at HollyRod

Hollywood hairstylist Chaz Dean provided the hairstyling duties for the fashion show at the seventh annual fund raising event of the HollyRod Foundation to benefit Parkinson’s Disease research and associated charities, July 5, 2005.

Established by husband and wife team, NFL star Rodney Peete and actress Peete, this year’s HollyRod event was held at the estate of Holly RobinsonSugar Ray Leonard and wife Bernadette in Pacific Palisades, California and showcasing fashion designer Pamela Dennis’collections. Chaz created a glamorous combination of movie star sophistication with a touch of rock star rebellion.

As in previous shows staged by the HollyRod Foundation which featured collections by David Cardona, Bradley Bayou, Monique L’Huillier and Roberto Cavalli, Chaz worked hand in hand with the designer to reflect the sensibility of the designs. “We get our creative energy by working with the clothes. With Pamela’s brilliant designs we immediately saw a sparkling allure that had a terrific sense of daring. We created a look with dynamic waves and emphasized fullness and texture with the hair.”

“The HollyRod Foundation really works hard to make a serious difference. We always make time to do this event each year,” says Chaz. “We were asked to participate that first year and we work so well with the whole foundation team that we’ve been asked to return every year since.” The all-day event is usually packed with A-list celebrities from both the
sports and entertainment fields who also participate in the live and silent auctions to raise money for Parkinson’s research.

This year’s crowd included supermodel Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, actress Vivica A. Fox, Eddie Murphy and wife Nicole, Babyface Edmonds, Magic Johnson and wife Cookie, Lisa Rinna and husband Harry Hamlin, Garcelle Beauvais, jazz performer Kenny G and many others. Stand up-comic Sinbad hosted the auction.

Following this event, Chaz Dean can be seen in the new reality series “A Brand New You” airing over the Summer on BBC America. “A Brand New You” features eight British women who were flown to Los Angeles for a head-to-toe change with the help of Hollywood’s most prominent fashion, beauty and cosmetic surgery experts.

“They all had distinct personalities and styles, which we addressed, but what they all had in common was failing to maintain the health of their hair.
