Danica McKellar


Wonder Years' Star
In Feature Horror Film

Danica McKellar has signed on to star in the lead role as Emily Longley in the upcoming independent horror film Hack. Longley is a seemingly shy but sexy conservative college brainiac who leads a group of kids on a weekend field trip. When the kids start getting brutally murdered, an unexpected twist reveals Emily's true colors.

The film is produced by Tomorrow’s Horizons and Brian Hartman (Chasing Ghosts with Michael Madsen) and Sean Kanan (Chasing Holden) is producing. The writer/director is Matt Flynn. It will be shot on super 35mm film throughout the month of August.

McKellar also will be seen in the lead role as Katherine Stern in the upcoming action/adventure movie for the Sci-Fi Channel Path of Destruction premiering on September 24. The film is produced by the United Film Organization and Jeffery Beach and TJ Sakasegawa are producing.

In addition, McKellar’s guest star appearances in 2005 included Lifetime’s Strong Medicine, the series finale of the award-winning NYPD Blue, the critically-acclaimed NCIS and Jack and Bobby. She also was recently was featured on UPN’s Eve.

McKellar has dipped her hand into writing, producing, and co-directing short films. Her most recent, Broken, will be featured in the Palm Springs Short Film Festival (Sept. 20-26), The Westwood International Film Festival (early October), and The California Independent Film Festival (late October). In 2001 her short film, Speechless garnered McKellar with the “Best First Time Director” award at the Hollywood Underground Film Festival.

Best known for her portrayal of Winnie Cooper on the hit television show The Wonder Years, McKellar made headlines when she returned to primetime television in Fall 2002 with a recurring role as “Elsie Snuffin” on the Emmy-Award winning series The West Wing. Additional television credits include guest-starring roles on Lifetime’s critically acclaimed The Division, Disney’s Even Stevens and NBC’s Working.

The deal was negotiated by Jeffery Bernstein at the law firm of Jackoway Tyermann. McKellar’s manager is Adam Lewis of HHR Management.
