The Office Special

Double Golden Globe
winning “The Office”
Back On BBC
America

The double Emmy* nominated, critically acclaimed The Office Special is back in business on BBC AMERICA with a special summer encore presentation on Saturday August 13, 2005 at 9 p.m. ET\PT.

For two painfully well-observed seasons a BBC documentary team recorded the everyday goings on at the Wernham Hogg paper supply company. Now, three years after the cameras stopped rolling, BBC AMERICA returns to catch up with the staff, past and present, of the famous paper merchants in Slough, England.

At the end of season two, office manager David Brent (Ricky Gervais) was laid off, Tim's (Martin Freeman, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) heart was broken by Dawn (Lucy Davis, Shaun of the Dead) once again, and Gareth (Mackenzie Crook, Pirates of the Caribbean) was promoted to Regional Manager.

Now the filmmakers return to find Gareth has moved into David's old office and Tim, who is battling with a new colleague, appears to be nearing the point of despair. David has blown his severance package on releasing a single, and now has a job selling cleaning products door-to-door and making z-list celebrity appearances. Meanwhile, Dawn and her fiancé Lee (Joel Beckett) have relocated to Florida, but are being flown over specially by the documentary makers for the end of year party.

The Office Special was recently nominated for two Emmy* awards:

- Outstanding Made for Television Movie
- Outstanding Writing for a Mini Series, Movie or Dramatic Special

The Office Special has recently triumphed in the Outstanding Achievement Movies, Mini-Series And Specials category at the Television Critics Association Awards. The Office has won numerous awards including two Golden Globes*, a Peabody, six BAFTAs (the UK equivalent of the Emmys) and a Silver Rose at the Montreux TV Festival, Europe's top television awards. The hit show has become one of the most critically acclaimed British comedies of all time on both sides of the Atlantic.

BBC AMERICA brings audiences a new generation of award-winning television featuring razor-sharp comedies, provocative dramas, life-changing makeovers and news with a uniquely global perspective. BBC AMERICA pushes the boundaries to deliver high quality, highly addictive and eminently watchable programming to viewers who demand more. BBC AMERICA is distributed by Discovery Networks.
