Dog Whisperer’s Busy Friday

On Friday, March 30, Cesar Millan Communicates With Dogs In This Life… And in the Next

(WASHINGTON, D.C. — March 21, 2007) Emmy-nominated Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan takes on one of his toughest challenges yet — a ghost. On Friday, March 30, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Cesar Millan guest stars as himself on the CBS hit show “Ghost Whisperer.” Then, at a special time, 9 p.m. ET/PT on the National Geographic Channel, catch the season finale of Dog Whisperer.

First, on “Ghost Whisperer,” Millan appears as himself at a local book signing. When Homer, the ghost dog, returns to Grandview, Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) seeks Cesar’s advice. Will Cesar be able to help this dog cross over into the light?

Then, in Dog Whisperer: Hope, Chloe and Sam, Cesar meets Chloe, a disrespectful cocker spaniel. Maureen, who has cerebral palsy, received Chloe as a gift from her grandfather in the hopes that the dog would provide her with emotional and physical support. But the 8-year-old Chloe has taken to taunting Maureen, sometimes even knocking her from her walker. When people try to greet Maureen in the house or on the street, Chloe will bark and nip at them. Will Cesar be able to tame Chloe and provide Maureen with the service dog she deserves? And, in a special surprise, Maureen’s grandfather flies in to see how she is doing with Chloe.

Also in the season finale, Cesar heads to Tijuana to witness Mexico’s overwhelming stray dog problem. There he helps the volunteers from United Hope for Animals rescue dogs at the Tijuana pound, or “perrera.” Cesar also visits a spay/neuter clinic run by the Humane Society of Tijuana and United Hope for Animals, where Mexicans and Americans work side by side. Back in the United States, Cesar meets up with United Hope for Animals to rehabilitate some of their foster dogs. Cesar surprises the group by adopting a dachshund, a breed of dog he’s always wanted.

With more than 20 years of experience working with canines, Millan has been called “Dr. Phil for dogs,” and for good reason. He has a unique gift of rehabilitating dogs and training their owners. A favorite of “Oprah Winfrey,” Cesar was also parodied on a recent episode of “South Park,” and his book "Cesar's Way" (Harmony Books, 2006) has been a fixture on the New York Times best-seller list for the past five months. The second season of Dog Whisperer received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy award. Millan was made an honorary member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, and was recently honored with The Michael Landon Award for Inspiration to Youth Through Television at the 28th Young Artist Awards.
