BBC American Nets Two Peabodys

BBC America's State of Play

BBC America won two Peabody Awards, which were announced in New York today, for State of Play, and The Kumars at No. 42. BBC America was one of only three broadcasters to receive more than one award. The channel previously won a Peabody in 2003 for Almost Strangers and in 2004 for The Office. State of Play aired in April 2004 and starred Bill Nighy, John Simm and David Morrissey. The Kumars at No. 42 first aired in August 2004 and stars the creator, Sanjeev Bhaskar, along with Meera Syal, Indira Joshi and Vincent Ebrahim. A new season premieres Wednesday, May 4, 2005, on BBC America. The awards will be presented on Monday, May 16, 2005.
