Celebs Turn Out For Padres Contra El Cancer

Kristin Herrera (Nick’s "Zoey 101") and Eva Longoria ("Desperate Housewives") are shown above, at the Padres Contra El Cancer (Parents Against Cancer) gala in Los Angeles on March 31, 2005. Founded in 1985, Padres Contra El Cancer is the only Latino organization of its kind in the United States to bring together children, families, healthcare professionals and community leaders to promote a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders. The success of Padre’s unique and inclusive program model is premised upon a health and education curriculum designed to be culturally relevant, family-centered and community based. All Padres’ programs, activities and services, while primarily oriented to the Latino community, serve childhood cancer patients from all races and ethnic origins. No family is turned away. Celebrating 20 years of service to its community, Padres has served 3,200 families and more than 16,000 extended family members residing in the Southern California region. Posted by Hello
