Rosy Blue Diamonds, Belgium

Everything's Coming Up Rosy:

Throughout last week diamond jeweler Rosy Blue organized different seminars for its workers on topics that affect the industry in South Africa. The topics covered ranged from HIV prevention, BEE, personal finance, employment law as well as Best Practice Principles such as child labour, money laundering and financing of terrorism. Vishal Mehta, Director of Rosy Blue SA, explains: “We have enlisted the aid of various institutions and organizations such as Nedbank, De Beers and labour consultants Povey & Mulvenna to provide information to our staff in South Africa. To close the week, three seminars were given in the auditorium at the De Beers Premier Mine on the Kimberley Process certification system, on Anti Money Laundering and on personal financial budgeting. The staff was informed on how these topics indirectly affect their work and was given the opportunity to ask questions related to these topics. Friday’s seminars were attended by local dignitaries and key industry professionals. After lunch they were guided through the polishing factory to show its latest developments.
