BBC's "Green Wing"

BBC America presents the U.S. premiere of the surreal and hospital based comedy drama Green Wing every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, 11 p.m. PT starting May 19, 2005. It aired last fall on the BBC in Great Britain.

Green Wing turns the spotlight on the human interactions, behavioral quirks and social observations of a group of medics who staff the most bizarre hospital ward on television. Rivalries, love, lust, insecurity and ambition all play out to hilarious effect.

Meeting the Green Wing team for the first time is new surgical resident Dr. Caroline Todd (Tamzin Greig, Black Books). She arrives disheveled and under-deodorized on her first day, having spent the previous night in her car. Her day continues to be hygienically and professionally challenging as she meets her new colleagues - a collection of bizarre people who apparently look after patients.

There's smooth-talking, self-absorbed anesthesiologist Guy Secrertan (Stephen Mangan Billy Eliot) who succeeds in tricking her into spending the night at his apartment. Handsome, charming Dr. MaCartney (Julian Rhind-Tutt, Notting Hill) who seems to have cast a spell over staff-liaison officer, Sue White (Michelle Gomez) and the socially awkward radiology guru Dr. Stratham (Mark Heap, About a Boy) who enjoys the swirl of his white coat and gets a weird thrill from playing the recorder as he carries on a tumultuous affair with HR Director Joanna Clore (Pippa Haywood).
