Lola

This sweet little set (Lola Gloss Menagerie) isn’t cheap ($45), but you get a variety of colors and this stuff is very yummy. We discovered Lola when we were invited to their short-lived shop on Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles. We met the owner, make-up guru Victoria Jackson. We remember her way back when. She used to do some of the very first info-mercials on buy-by-mail makeup sets.

At any rate, Lola, which can be found at Sephora and other locations (check their website, lolacosmetics.com), makes great lip gloss. For starters, they have this “key-chain” size tiny glass tube-let that’s super cute. But you know we’re not about the aesthetics of packaging, it’s the actual gloss we think is great.

The colors are lovely (although there’s not a huge choice in our particular favored range), the gloss is just the right consistency and a huge giant plus? There’s a hint of mint. Jackson told us the purpose was to make it a little bit of a breath mint kind of thing, but while it might do that, it also feels lovely and smells great, too.

Our only issue is that Lola Lip Gloss isn’t cheap. The regular tubes (smaller than you’re accustomed to) are $16, so make sure you have the absolutely right color – if you go to Sephora, you can sample to your tiny heart’s content.

As for the "menagerie"...the ideal way to find your favorite shade of Lola Lip Gloss. This deluxe set contains 12 mini tubes of Lola's colorful, shimmering lip glosses to mix, wear alone, or over your favorite lipstick $45
