Glam Cane

We have always loved the 1940s look, especially when we were thin and could pull it off. In fact, our undergraduate graduation shoes WAY back in the day were new old stock, authentic 1940s open-toed navy leather pumps with a gloriously chunky heel. Sigh. They were gorgeous. They were the perfect accent to our Jane Schauffhausen (sp?) dress, which were a favorite in our youthful innocence.

Stuart Weitzman is introducing a couple of styles reminiscent of our favorite era. Straw and raffia’s fresh look is modernized in clutch and platform pumps. The platform pumps come in both natural and dark (we love the latter, to go with all our brown shoes). Stuart Weitzman, let us tell you, knows how to make a great platform. We have several pairs acquired throughout the years and they’re the most comfortable (if you’re going to be 3.5 to 4.5 inches up there) platform shoes. We usually need some kind of strap or buckle to hold our heel in, but we love the look. Check out their site for more beauties. www.stuartweitzman.com
