Nourishment for Your Mind and Skin: Avance

Ever wondered what products the aesthetic learning institutions use as they train future spa professionals? It is very possible that your favorite facialist or masseuse has used a line of skin care products called Avance while in training. The Academy of Aesthetics and Wellness, located in New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts, serves as the educational facility to one of BeansTalk’s new favorite spa lines – Avance.

BeansTalk picked two items from their extensive spa line to feature for our readers as after bath or shower companions suitable for fall weather. They are the Azulen Day Crème, a rich day crème that locks in moisture, and the Essence of Algae, an after bath, before moisturizing body mist that feeds the skin.

We love the Azulen Day Crème because we found that it provides a protective barrier against makeup absorption, protects the delicate skin around the eyes, hydrates and soothes skin surface, while diminishing fine lines and puffiness. The key ingredients are:
Azulen Flower – Egyptian Blue Chamomile that calms and soothes
Seaweed Extract – purifies
Humectants – add moisture
Chamomile Oil – calms and soothes
We recommend this product as a daytime treatment for normal, sensitive or dry skin. The crème retails for about $33.00 for a 2 oz. bottle. ( We know it is a splurge, but you know you are worth it!)


We also highly recommend, for all skin types, the Essence of Algae. We are natives of beach communities here in LA and anything that reminds of natural ocean smells immediately affects the pleasure centers of our brains. We would use this body mist just so that we could “go home” again for a little while. In addition the mist infuses skin with marine minerals that hydrate, removes dead cells and calluses, and leaves skin soft and vibrant. Key ingredient – seaweed extract. The mist retails for about $31.00 for a 6 oz. bottle. Again, go for it.
