Sparkling Stone

Actress Sharon Stone arrives at the 17th Carousel of Hope Ball benefiting the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006. Stone wore Platinum jewelry by Neil Lane: a pair of ultra-long Platinum, diamond and ruby earrings, and a wide Platinum and diamond bangle. Stone wore a David Meister evening gown, a mocha metallic silk lame halter-style evening gown. We just watched the A&E Biography on Stone, and it was fascinating in that it actually revealed very little about her. That means that it was done with total cooperation (translate: she allowed herself to be interviewed on camera, which means she probably had say in editing and final cut). You did get glimpses of the fact that she seems pretty much of a whack job. Her sister, Kelly, spoke quite a bit about her and came off much, much nicer than she is person (which we have found her not to be). Stone is reputedly very smart. And she tells you that she always had her nose in a book. She’s also a tremendous humanitarian. Kelly will tell you, and so will Sharon herself. Stone carried Mary Norton's "Golden Globe" handbag, with white feathers and caviar beading. (AP Photo/Matt Sayles)
