Your Music: Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Rihanna
Your Brand: Paige Premium Denim

The story:
Paige Adams-Geller was a big name in the denim industry before she ever became a designer. In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Paige Adams-Geller established a name for herself as the most-requested fit model for the country’s hottest denim brands. You have worn them all, believe us. Remarkably, during the fit sessions, Paige’s proportions were met with such appreciation that she was lauded as “the perfect body for jeans fitting.” After a decade of behind-the-seams experience, she established her name again—as a brand. Paige Premium Denim, which debuted in February 2005, is now a world-wide best-selling denim line and represents the ideology, insight and innovation of the designer.

BeansTalk likes Paige jeans because they are designed to be ultra-feminine, are tailor-fit to elongate the legs, lift the derriere, and slenderize hips and thighs.

When conceiving the line, Paige Adams-Geller and her team made sure that each detail was designed with sophistication and purpose. BeansTalk likes the credit-card-sized pocket discreetly sewn into the five-pocket classic because we think it is also handy for our iPod Nano. All waistband and pocket linings are printed in Paige’s signature Asian floral print, interior and exterior threading is pale nutmeg, and the engraved steel rivets and buttons are manufactured by Cobra, a top name in Italian hardware.

Paige Premium Denim uses ultra-soft denim from Europe and Asia. Clean and natural vintage washes are achieved through hand-sanding, lasers and stones at a state-of-the-art wash plant. From subtle washes to seam placement, every nuance of the brand flatters the female form.

Paige Adams-Geller brings unique perspective to her vision as a designer. She isn’t just a set of measurements and an authority on fit; she is a woman who relates to her customer. She is a former beauty pageant winner and model who, like every woman, has questioned her body image, and has tried unhealthy eating habits to achieve unrealistic weight standards.

BeansTalk wanted to know more about this super popular designer, so we asked her a few questions recently:

AAG: For the purposes of this story on premium denim, you are the only female designer. What feminine sensibilities do you bring to denim design? We noticed that you care about the way clothes feel on the inside. Is that something a male designer would think about?

P A-G: I love being a woman designing for women and men! I must say that I know how to make any type of clothing fit a woman's body. No matter what her body type is! I truly understand how to structure a jean, what is comfortable to wear and what flatters our bodies! Having struggled with body issues and having battled anorexia I know all about the female psyche and how hard we can be on ourselves.

AAG: We checked out your website, and it seems as though you really care about your customer. In addition to looking good in our jeans, you want us to love ourselves, feel comfortable in our skin. The "thought for the week" is a morale booster, and you really seem to want us to be strong and empowered. Do you feel a responsibility to young women in particular?

P A-G: I certainly am flattered that you have really looked at and understood my website! I do have a deep seeded responsibility to help young women. I wish I would have had a positive mentor when I was in my teens to early 20's. Kids can be so cruel and I was constantly teased for being overweight as a kid. My nickname was 'Pudgy Paigie' and 'Miss Piggie'. I never felt good about my appearance. When I was told I had a pretty face but needed to lose weight, I took it to the other extreme! I don't want anyone to feel this pain and go through what I had to. I want everyone to feel good about themselves! Inside and out!!!!

AAG: We know that you are a shoe enthusiast. Do you have a list of shoe or boot "do's and don'ts" for Paige customers?

P A-G: Don't wear ankle boots with short skirts!!!! Do wear platforms with skinnies! Do wear skinnies tucked inside your boots! Don't wear ankle boots with knee length crops! Do wear ankle length cigarette jeans with flats, stiletto's, platform's or ankle boots!

AAG: Lastly, and most importantly, what kind of music do you listen to?

P A-G: I love all kinds of music! Depending on my mood. The same thing with the style of jeans I like to wear. I listen to Gwen Stefani (with or without No Doubt), Sting, Keith Urban (one of my all time favorites), Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas, Train, Maroon 5, Augustana, The Fray, Faith Hill, Evinescence.....the list goes on!!!!!! I love music. Oh, and I love Justin Timberlake's music. I am anxiously awaiting for my friend Emmy Rossum's album to come out!
Thanks for taking the time Ms. Adams Geller!

What we think:
BeansTalk has two favorite styles for Paige Premium denim. First, we love the Laurel Canyon in Medium Destruction. This is a low waist boot cut jean that carefully hugs the lower back and booty. It has a low 7.5” front rise, a 15” knee opening and a 20” bottom opening, with a 34” inseam. We think we look pretty sexy in these, have gotten lots of compliments, and we know that they accentuate the positive. They retail for about $179.00. We tried on the Hollywood Hills style in a lighter wash, and almost bought them, but we knew the man we share the house with would never leave us alone if we trotted around in those slim little numbers. (Maybe next time!)

BeansTalk recommends that you try Paige jeans if you program your ipod with what we call Music With Abs: Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, and Rihanna. All of these pop music artists are equally well known for their seductive lyrics and rhythms and their sexy, rock-hard mid-sections. That’s right, Justin, Paige brings sexy denim back, and just in case there was any doubt among you man-eaters, it was never out of style. So for any of our readers with “fab-ab” mentality or just fab abs, if you think our irresistible and habit forming music choices are in heavy rotation on the radio, wait till you see how often you pull your Paige’s out of the closet.

Paige Premium Denim and PPD for men are sold at Paige on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, and at exclusive retailers and boutiques across America.
