Alfonso Ribeiro “Celebrity Duets” Champ

Celebrity Duets came to a conclusion Friday as Alfonso Ribeiro was crowned the winner during the live one-hour season finale Friday, on Fox. Ribeiro will donate his $100,000 cash prize to Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, which provides reconstructive plastic surgery and related services at no charge to children and young adults with physical deformities. Lucy Lawless was runner-up of the competition, and Hal Sparks received the fewest votes after last night’s performance episode.

The original eight competing celebrities started the show with a group performance of “Rock Around the Clock” and “The Twist,” and then joined Celebrity Duets' judge Little Richard, known as “the architect of rock ‘n’ roll,” on his classic hit “Good Golly, Miss Molly.” The celebration also featured the Top 3 celebrities – Lawless, Sparks and Ribeiro – performing for the last time on the Celebrity Duets stage, as well as performances by recording superstars Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson and Boyz II Men.

Wayne Brady was the host and David Foster, Marie Osmond and Little Richard were judges of Celebrity Duets. Simon Cowell, Michael Levitt, and Arthur Smith (“Skating with Celebrities”) served as executive producers. Celebrity Duets was produced by SYCO TV, Fox Television Studios, Michael Levitt Productions and A. Smith & Co. Productions.
